Have to choose not to show expired deals every time i visit the site ?

Feedback

Wouldn't it be better if it was set to not show expired deals as default ? Would be better for new people aswell so they don't see walls of expired deals.

A few points:

Why is the email sent out Toms Deals and not Latest Deals ?

Why is the other site owned (LatestFreeStuff) with nearly half a million subscribers not advertising this site ?

WhatsApp messaging could be a good addition.

Hi Dread the default for new users should be to hide expired deals now.

If you're finding you have to choose not to show expired deals every time you visit then that sounds like a bug - your preferences should be remembered so I'll have a look into that for you πŸ™‚

LatestFreeStuff is run by Deepak and is technically separate to LD - but we do have a link to LD on the Desktop version of LFS (soon to be on the mobile too) and we're also featured in the LFS newsletter too.

We send the email out as Toms Deals at the moment as it seems to result in more people opening/reading the email than if we send it out as Latest Deals - would be good to hear your thoughts on this though and why you think it should be LD instead.

Thanks for the feedback/questions - they're all very relevant! πŸ‘

Think it should be Latest Deals for branding. Latest Deals is what needs to be sticking in people's head. Toms Deals confuses that aswell as it making it sound it is Tom finding deals and posting them rather than the community site it is. Again confusing the message.

Can't see any mention of LD here ? Unless its well hidden.

If i go to tweet something it needs to be shorter than this (especially with a larger title):

Gears Of War 4 (Xbox One) (Click & Collect), Β£19.99 at Argos https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/deals/gears-of-war-4-xbox-one-click-collect-argos #lduk via @LatestDealsUK

Is there a way for it to convert to a short link and remove the via ?

Dread Twitter auto shirnks long tweets i thought.. I post mine all the time and it shortens it for sure.

PS: I like reading Tom's Deals... something different imho to read on the email pop up - more personal than the corporate sell sell sell junk you get everyday!

nemosays I don't want the email to change. Just the name in keeping with the brand and message. Tom can of course continue to keep it personal within.

I will try a tweet later and see if it's shortening it for me. I could have sworn last time it wasn't. Maybe some Twitter settings on my end ?

nemosays Just tried a tweet. The link is full and takes up every character before tweeting and once tweeted shows half the link as it is long. It isn't shortened.

A shortened link would be something like :

http://amzn.eu/j2u0ZYj

Taking far less characters than:

https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/deals/gears-of-war-4-xbox-one-click-collect-argos

nemosays Wouldn't I have to change each tweet here then though one by one ?

Dread when ive done mine twitter will auto-shrink the long url but not give it a tiny url (bit.ly type) so I have a bit.ly account where i create my own tiny url's and post on twitter.

nemosays Yeah don't think I could be bothered converting each tweet to one. Would be good if the site could do it for you but I have no idea if it's technically possible. I would assume so with a simple bot automating the process. Thanks for the info though I may need it with some of the longer titles πŸ˜„

Dread no not each tweet... You copy and paste your deal url into bit.ly and it will create you a shorter url which you then post in your tweet along with text.

nemosays But I would have to do that with each deal link wouldn't I ?
