I heard a bang this morning and then saw feathers floating past my window.
This hawk had caught a pigeon on my roof for his breakfast.
Standing on top of his prize, and with that pigeon's feather in his cap, he looks rather proud of himself, doesn't he? Or is it a she?
Great photo! We had a pair of buzzards nesting close by this year and several times my garden looked like Armageddon in the morning!

I wish I had your camera, I don't think any picture I took would be that clear. I love the way that the hawk is trying to pretend he/she is a red indian!
Amazing picture, worthy of going in a photo competition. We get a few pigeons crash into our windows and I have to quickly get out before one of my cats gets it.

I seen one couple of years ago in a town centre just eating the brain of a pigeon and left the rest of the bird
They look all set for watching the handicap. I hear it's going to be a pretty sweet day.
