Help! Too Scared to Eat
Other
Recently I keep having episodes of nausea and vomiting and it's beginning to take its toll on me. I don't have any allergies/intolerances and I've had a blood test done yesterday and also sent off a stool sample, to check for Crohn's or Ulcerative colitis. I don't have the symptoms of them but as always it's good to check.
I know until I don't have an idea of what's going it won't go away but does anyone have any tips to deal with nausea or what to eat after vomiting.. I didn't eat for 10+ hours and so I decided to have a plain baked potato but unfortunately it came straight out after a short while.. I really hate the vomiting all the acid is killing my stomach and throat. I'm really scared to eat.
I always find bland food best when feeling unwell semolina a good one no real flavour and easy on the stomach
Mick82 thankyou so much for replying. Interestingly, I bought semolina the other day for a recipe but I may just have it bland tomorrow
I found this N, the foods suggested might help
Try foods such as bananas, rice, applesauce, dry toast, soda crackers (these foods are called BRAT diet). For 24-48 hours after the last episode of vomiting, avoid foods that can irritate or may be difficult to digest such alcohol, caffeine, fats/oils, spicy food, milk or cheese
When my elderly neighbour was poorly she had not eaten anything for days so to tempt her I give her a small amount of jelly and custard as it’s sweet and light on the stomach and is easily swallowed so does not take to much energy to eat after that she started eating small amounts of proper food good luck and hope that you feel better soon
I know this may sound silly but what about trying to eat your favourite foods pizza or burgers ect..
