Do You Hold a Grudge?

Ask a Question

This maybe petty, but I am currently holding a grudge against my partner who recently went back to work and since then has been unbelievably tired, grumpy and snappy, having had 3 months off for lockdown.. i‘m currently waiting for an apology for the way I’ve been spoken to for the past week, so I’m holding a grudge and only speaking when spoken to..

anyone else hold a grudge?? 🤔

What do you think of this?

Nope, life is too short. If there is a valid reason for the way someone has acted then what is the point. An apology given under duress is not genuine and causes more resentment. I like to think that if I do wrong it will also be forgiven with good grace.

sarahgreen15 Life is to short for grudges. Ask him why he spoke to you that way and tell him it's not acceptable.

Holding a grudge has the opposite effect of what you want to achieve, instead ask your other half if there is anything you can help him with, maybe he is catching up on workload from the last three months and feels stressed himself&brings it home.Sometimes we vent our frustration at loved ones, best to sit down and have a chat and move forward, hope you get it sorted and enjoy the rest of the day together, have a nice meal,go for a walk, maybe watch a movie x

No, I don't hold a grudge. I maybe did when I was a teenager, but I don't now. I've been through too much in my life to hold grudges.

Most of the time we take out our frustrations on the people we love because they are our safe space.

If my husband spoke to me like that I would ask him what was wrong and explain I understood but the way he spoke to me wasn't acceptable.

Clearly is just me then 🤣 to everyone saying I should talk to him, he knows full well he is being snappy and shouting at me, his whole family pointed it out on Wednesday, his reason is that he’s tired because he goes to bed so late and gets up so early - he refuses to change that habit.. his work isn’t stressful and there isn’t a change in his workload because of lockdown or anything, its purely just that he doesn’t get enough sleep and takes it out on me..

I feel for you. Most men I have ever known seem to hate going to bed at a reasonable time (unless there is something in it for them!). Good sleep habits are instilled from childhood and it is wrong to deliberately deprive yourself of sleep and take it out on others. Just wait until that baby arrives, he will know it then! I suggest sleeping in another room, telling him that as he likes late night's so much he can do the late and early feeds/nappies/soothing etc!

Lol I have my moments 😜 but you’re better off just telling him how you feel, and work it out quicker

Get over it. Life is too short. If you woke up tomorrow and he wasn't there, you'd regret it. A few on Latest Deals hold grudges. It's called muting on here. One has at least admitted to it!

Anything that upsets either of you is best resolved before you go to bed. Issues that are left only fester...🐞
