Homework

Ask a Question

Do you think children get to much homework or to little homework?

Do you think children should not get homework at all and just enjoy being children?

I think children get too much homework. I think it has always been the case at least in the last 10 years

Homework has little to no benefit to children. This has been widely researched. I spend most of our homework time trying to get my child to focus, it's draining and pointless.

I think they get to much homework. They are at school enough during the day learning. once they have finished homework there isn’t much time for them to play and be children

Too much and when they have to make projects I dame well hate it. Its the parents who end up doing it

I wholeheartedly disagree with homework. I think they are in school long enough that a decent teacher should be able to teach and consolidate their learning within the classroom. As an ex primary teacher I agree with Ann1984. Projects at home are basically parent competitions and then you have the odd child made to do it themselves and a few that haven't done it at all as there is a total lack of support at home.

Ann1984 exactly its just to tick off a learning objective without the teacher having to give any input. It makes me mad, your daughters one of the lucky ones, you care. Imagine how it is for all the children that don't have any support and believe me there are far more than you would imagine. They go to school all day, then they are supposed to do more school work at home. Eat their dinners and go to bed. Funny that's not how it works in the adult world. Grr, it really does make my blood boil, lol

I suppose repetition is beneficial to children's knowledge but I hate it. I spend most of the weekend nagging my oldest child to do the homework :/
