Horror as Woman Finds Beetles in Sandwiches
In the News
The woman, named Mrs Mudge , a good job it wasn't Midge , got two extra ingredients inside two sealed sandwiches from sainsburys she didn't bargain for , beetles
They gave her £200 in vouchers as compensation but she says it isn't enough as she is traumatised and can no longer eat packaged food
It makes you wonder how they got inside the packaging and where was the quality control operative to allow it ?
It is a good job she noticed them before eating and biting into the crunchy bacon of the BLT
Maybe they wanted to bring back their 2005 to 2011 slogan 'Try something new today’

Not to wrongly point a finger but I often wonder if periodically people just try it on T bit like the dodgy pavement scam where people were always claiming. Nowdays they scarce ever recompense cos some many people claimed..or whiplash injuries.

MelissaLee1963 I was thinking the same m, but they would have to have opened the sealed packages to put the beetles in then reseal them

telmel Those packs are open.I would need to see a closed pack mit beetles to be fully persuaded.£200 of free vouchers..I'd have a bite lol.

MelissaLee1963 Ah i missed that M, so it is possible they were placed there after purchase, if it was a genuine claim they would not have opened the packets after spotting the insects, then they would have had a good case
Its like the fly in the soup or hair in the indian meal ,when someone wants to avoid paying
It would have been more credible if she was claiming one beetle in a pack, but one in each pack is a bit too much of a coincidence

I honestly don't know if Mrs Mudge is lying or not. I used to have a high opinion of Sainsburys bakery department until someone posted a video of a mice or rats eating a cooked sweet pastry. I only buy prepacked sweet pastry. Not from Sainsburys, of course.

Quality control? Fake meat and insects is what they want the masses to eat.
I hope this was just an accident.
