Hotel Toiletries- Do You Take Them?
Money Saving
I take them whenever and wherever I stay, even if they never get used....well, they always come in handy, and saves me from buying them for future trips!

Hi hspexy I am glade I am not the only one. Yes I take it. Because you have played for it. So it's not sterling. And some of the prices that they charge for a room. I take it home with me and use it.

Hi nicolajaynehend yes I’m with you on that - I’ve paid for it, so no point leaving it behind. Even the stuff I don’t really like I take - I can always find good homes for them

Hi. hspexy i take every think and if I don't like it I make up baskets. It say it's free but when you add up the price it's not. It's the same with the tea and coffee.

nicolajaynehend ah yes teas and coffees included also. Have started to take creamers also so I don’t need to buy milk when on the go

Hi hspexy I all so take the coffee , tea bags and milk. My partner gives me looks. But like I said we have payed for it.. the price that the change. And now parts of Scotland has brought in the £2 extra tax for holiday makers. So why did take it. This tax is all wrong.

nicolajaynehend oh yes I’ve heard about that - such a shame they've decided to do the tax thing. It means that if they’ve got quilted toilet paper, that’s coming with me too!

Hi hspexy you just made me laugh about the toilet roll. You would not be the first or the last.to take it. And if I saw the cleaning lady with the troll I would ask for some more toiletries and tea coffee milk . Which I take home with me.

I always take home any left overs and even been cheeky if staying more than one night housekeeping replenish them next day. After all they can’t leave used soap and opened bottles for next paying guest. In fact it’s being eco friendly taking them to use up.

Yes I agree, no point leaving them as they just get thrown out. If I’m somewhere really nice with really nice toiletries, I always insist that I need additional top ups

hspexy I would imagine the cleaners look forward to having any freebies left over as they earn a pittance, I doubt they get thrown away.

Lynibis I guess so, but surely if they’ve got access to everything, they’d be taking full bottles home, not the leftovers? I’d imagine they’d get sick of the same toiletries after a while, so they’d probably look forward to those guests who bring their own toiletries and leave them behind

hspexy stocktaking would be in place and someone in charge would have a rough idea how many should be used on a monthly basis. Some guests probably don't use or take so they probably divvy up the spoils.

Those new flat screen TVs are much easier, than the old valve ones, to get in suitcase
Only joking

I personally don't take them because I'm usually allergic to them. Otherwise I would take them too!

sometimes im taking them sometimes not.. but mostly i take the soap ones or the wee receptacles..

I think its been mentioned before that shelters for the homeless etc are really grateful for the freebie toiletries that people acquire from hotel rooms. So don't leave them behind ... take and donate

Yes! I always take them! I don't stay in hotels often but I always take the toiletries and the tea and coffee! We have paid for them so why not! The last hotel toiletries I took went in my hospital bag for when I had my son.

People take them as if they've never seen toiletries before or they are using coal to scrub there bodies at home. I've found many of these hotel bottles in some back corner, under a pile of junk at home

I only take it if it is half used as they will throw it out and that is a waste but otherwise I leave it behind.
