In this day and age, I can't believe people are still being caught out on social media. After recent All the people who have had their careers ruined you would think people would think before they post
All different languages to people who don't speak them are gibberish.
I was brought up in Wales where we went to English speaking school, but the Welsh language was only taught in the first three years.
The problem was that the first three years in comprehensive included everyone at that year age, whether they were intelligent or not.
We had a bunch of absolute clowns in the classes who made sure that nothing would be learned.
As a Welshman, I should have been taught the Welsh language from the start, and it still annoys me that I wasn't.
I'm originally from Swansea, but have loved in England, for over 30 years. I have a strong Welsh accent, but I don't speak Welsh, when people ask me and I have to say No as always been a source of embarrassment.
I know this is off subject but I am reading a book about Llywelyn ap Iorwerth at the moment and his wife Joanna (illegitimate daughter of King John) gets a lot of stick for being a slow study with the Welsh language. Obviously her kids are Welsh and even after 20 odd years she was considered an outsider, hated by his son Gruffydd from a previous wife.
It does seem a difficult language and the author gives pronunciation tips for things like dd.
