I'm getting put off using this site :(

Feedback

I joined 2 days ago & I've had 100's of points reducted. It just doesn't seem fair & this site has a glitch. When uploading a deal it says oops this has been shared already or something like that, but it's nothing like your deal at all. Anyways, a few hours later you'll get a notification saying it was removed because someone beat you to it. It's a huge waste of time when you go through the effort of sourcing a deal, including the info, etc and then it gets removed!!! 😔 There should be a way of them telling you that deal is already up before you post it.

i'm getting so disheartened & now the 5,000 points seem very unlikely. Every time I sign in again I see my points getting less & less 😓

well .....if someone has already posted a deal using same link on the site ........it would say" oops this has been shared already "but at the bottom it says "if your deal is different please continue".

Your points are reduced if you post a deal which was already posted by any other member before you posted it. That's when you get " it was removed because someone beat you to it "

There are some fair rules on this site which you might not know so go through https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/guidelines

i joined this site just over a month ago and i have already earned 5000 points easily in less than two weeks.

Hi there,

I've had a look and can only see two of your deals that have been removed?

If you ever feel like one of your posts was incorrectly removed then please do drop us an email - we're happy to double check as we'll readily admit that we make mistakes sometimes!

The points are a thank you and reward for the community contributions but we do have to have some limits and rules around them otherwise it wouldn't be sustainable for us to keep doing.

I hope that that all makes sense but any questions please do ask 🙂

Don't get disheartened! I've had a couple of posts removed too, but still hit 5000 within a couple of weeks.

I think it's a case of You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time . I see it as a very fair way of doing things that stops the site getting clogged up with the same deals/vouchers/comps because none of us want to see that. The way things are you and each and every one of us will post things that have already been posted and have them removed like they should be to keep the site functioning properly,if they are removed and you are told quickly enough that day you can find another deal/voucher that can be posted and you will get your daily points allocation. Keep at it and don't get disheartened because getting to the first 5000 points is really not that difficult and you also have the added bonus of getting good deals, freebies etc for free. Good luck you will get there soon enough and the more you post the more you will get use to how things run.

I have gone to post a deal and someone has posted it before me, it is just what happens and I have had a deal removed because someone had posted it before. It isjust what happens as other people will see deals too and post them before you can! For me it is not all about the points, they are an added bonus. For me it is about telling other people about deals so they can save money, talking to people in the latest deals community and seeing the posts other people have out up to help me save money! I unerstand it can be annoying losing points, but you can earn them back.

MrsCraig I totally agree, this is the only deal/voucher/comp site I know that actually rewards you for posting stuff, the biggest, HUKD, does not reward you and unlike here people can actually be quite vicious in their comments when you have posted something they don't see as relevant to them or that may be a copy of a deal someone has posted before. I think that we all have to remember first and foremost that we are actually here to try and help each other out and save each other a bit of money if we can, to get rewarded for doing so is nothing more than an added bonus and we should be grateful.

jinxyjink Very well said! There are some deals on here that are not relevent to me, I just scroll past them. If I see a deal that is not relevent to me but I know will help someone else then I will post it! This page is about helping each other out as you said. The points have meant that my husband can get stuff for his vaping for nothing and we can then save the money and put it towards something else! I am definitely grateful for the added bonus of the points!

We are friendly bunch. From time to time, posts are duplicated and one of the friendly Mentors or Admin staff have to remove listings. Shhh.. it even happens to me sometimes too. But we are all here to help each other. The points are a bonus and as you state they do soon rack up. Although getting to 50,000 is quite a challenge for me personally. Don't lose heart. Keep at it!

Don't be put off aksi172006 once you get into how the site works it's fab. I joined about 10 days ago and am already 60% off my 5000 points without trying too hard! As others have said keep an eye when you post that it doesn't tell you that something has been posted already, and if it says it has double check to make sure if it is the same as your post. If it is then don't post, cos you will just lose your points, but if it is different then you can continue and as long as it's not really a duplicate you'll get your points! If you ever feel that your post has been incorrectly removed let the team know so they can look into it for you. Everyone on here is so friendly and helpful, so give it another chance and enjoy being on the site! 😎

Don't forget it's not just about getting the rewards from the points on here either, there are some great deals, vouchers and comps to take part in which can be great rewards in many different ways!

5k is an easy reach so just take it easy, be patient and you'll be there at some point. 100k probably no one will claim unless for very few. 😛

And hey, getting rewarded on LD is something more or less exclusive, i.e., you don't get this on HotUKDeals (sorry for mentioning but had to for comparison's sake) while the best they offer instead are the deer hunting rewards (you got to be glued to their website and the deal pages to see if the deer appears).

Have to agree with the others above. I dont see this site as a quick way to earn points - there are lots of other places to do that and this site is the place to find out about them! This is the site to find and share deals - the points are a nice bonus. I dont stop sharing or liking things just because the points limits have been reached. Just concentrate on sharing and discovering deals and then be pleasantly surprised by the occasional amazon voucher.

Hey RosalynMcAuley, to clarify, Latest Deals does not sell any products. We are an online forum, similar to a Facebook Group, where people share tips with each other. You will need to reach out to the retailer through which you bought the watch.

Just to add - some freebies take a long time to arrive. A lot of the Ts&Cs on the websites state expect to wait up to 28 working days for delivery.

and watch out for expected delivery dates on Amazon - some of these just pay P&P offers have expected delivery dates up to a month away. I got one the the free watches thru a deal here and it did indeed take 5 weeks to arrive. (wish i didnt bother really as watch looks so naff cant give it away!)

Hi there

how can you warn other users about any of the deals on here?

i sent for a watch from "the dress bible" and i have ended up contacting paypal to get my money back

the reason for this is that they didnt send the watch out or contacted me regarding the sale

i would NOT advise anyone to use the dress bible site

Hi RosalynMcAuley , if you need to warn or advise LatestDeal members about deals posted on here you can find the specific Deal or Freebie post and comment on it, you can also use the Report function on the post to make a report which will go through to the Admins and Mentors to check.

Oh bad luck RosalynMcAuley what a shame. At least it wasn't a lot of money. Phew!

For freebies etc offered by unknown companies it's a good idea to type the Seller's web address into www.trustpilot.com and see what kind of customer reviews the Seller gets.

I also like to check the About Us / Contact Us / Returns Pages of Sellers' sites (usually there's links to these pages at the bottom of the Home Page) to check whether it's a 'Limited' company and whether there is an actual street address and telephone number. If there isn't, it's very often a tell-tale sign that it's a Fly-by-night company to avoid, as you can't turn up at the door and start shouting at them, and can't even make a complaint on the phone without the number!

It's the bitchy comments that put me off. Why people have to type nasty comments on deals rather than just report them if they have an issue, I have no idea.

Hey CHoward we always try and promote a positive atmosphere on LD 🙂 If you see any offensive or abusive comments please let us know so we can look into it.

I don't know specifically which comments you're referring to so this may not apply but lots of the more hardened bargain hunters can be quite direct with their view on whether or not a deal is a "good deal". I myself have shared things that turned out to be a bit of a flop or get mixed reviews!

As I say - this may not be applicable to you personally, but generally I'd recommend people try not to take any critical comments of their deals personally. One of the benefits of LD is that you get a wide range of views on whether a product or deal is good or bad.

In an ideal world any criticism would be constructive and with reason but sometimes even a comment along the lines of "cheaper elsewhere" or "bad price" is helpful. Granted, yes, it isn't the most friendly and isn't something I'd personally do or encourage but it does help any potential buyers have a more rounded view.

All that said, whilst we may tolerate less-than-friendly comments on the deals themselves if any comment is ever at all personal then, again, please let us know as that isn't something we want on LD and we'll remove it and let the commenter know it isn't acceptable.

Kelsey Thank you. I will remember that in future. I've not had anything personal, but direct is certainly one way of describing some of the comments!!
