Did You Have an Imaginary Friend as a Child?
Ask a Question
I did but only for a very short time, However my Brother had a little boy he would talk to every day for years- although we think he was more ghost than imaginary! when asked my brother said he was a little boy who got killed in the war and would describe jobs, the army and a whole different era! So did any of you have an imaginary friend?
Yes my imaginary friend was called Jennifer . Mum had to keep a seat for her at the table and she had to have a meal laid for her when I ate . ( though this wasn’t always complied with)
Jennifer was my scapegoat frienD who would always get the blame if I’d done something wrong . ‘ it wasn’t me - it was Jennifer !’
I cant remember when she stopped being around but she was there for some length of time ; listening to me and taking part in my imaginary games . I guess I wasnt a very friend because I blamed her for my misdemeanours but she was a good friend to me . She brightened my lonely childhood .
this sounds just like me thank you for sharing, my imaginary friend was called Jemima and she was very naughty lol
No... i always wanted one, but i wasnt creative enough to actually believe it / see it I feel like I maybe had an imaginary dog that I would stroke and cuddle though....
I remember pretneding i had one because other kids in my class had one, but i couldnt see a thing
if Jemima ever did come back id never know as real lfe in my head is far too noisy these days
I dont think I had a imaginary friend lo term but I definitely used to do imagination games where I pretended to be talking to other people. Our imagination is such a wonderful thing!
i know isnt it just I always encourage our families little ones to enjoy it by being silly as far too soon for many its gone too soon
Yeah I did for a short while. My parent would make me stand at the door waiting to go somewhere while they rushed around to find all the things they needed. I would see this very odd wizard standing there. I was a little scared of him.
i didnt but my daughter did that was called jay she use to sit talkin to him/her for hours and playing games and having tea partys she started talking to him/her when she was around 4 years old and when i first heard my daughter i asked her who is jay and she said its my friend and i said and where is your freind she said her were playing my daughter was a only child so im not sure if this is maybe why jay fizzled out when shes reached about 7 years old and when i tell her now about the things they use to talk about and play she has no idea what im talking about she dosnt remember
