How Important is It for You to Get a Seat on the Bus/train?

Other

I guess this depends on 1) the cost of the fare and 2) how long your journey is

but for the most part, as long as the service is running, I am happy to stand all the way - it's certainly become a rare situation to be able to get a seat during rush hour in London!

If I have booked seats it drives me crazy when people are in them! Every single journey I've taken on National Express my paid for reserved seats have been taken. However on normal buses I really don't mind having to stand or for how long for, I'm just happy to be on the way home 😊

ah yes, if it's a booking, it's just downright rude if the people in your seats don't move out of them - no point having a booking system if people just ignore it

I would prefer to get a seat, but it's not always an option. Just getting on a train/tube in London can be a challenge during rush hour - avoid Oxford Circus Station like the plague. For longer journeys I always reserve a seat and try to avoid peak hours.

Well, I'm not expecting to get a seat so that when I don't find a seat I'm not disappointed, that way it's all gravy guvna!

i think when we pay 1.50 for a ticket we should have a place to sit down, that is one way in London and the journey can last 45 to 50 min from one stop to an other. They could make standing tickets cheaper.

I actually agree with you. Why should those standing pay more than those sitting? It's not fair really! I remember the days of sub 50 pence bus fares...those were good times.

As long as the other person doesn't stink, is eating, talking on the phone loudly or what have you.. fine. It's public transport so no one is entitled to a special seat, except older people and disabled who have priority.

And pregnant ladies and ladies with small kids and also people with injuries should sit...

AgnesFaludi for that price, the customer should have a seat reserved. It's the case of should but won't.
