I Intended To Do A Tesco Review But I Couldn't Post These Pictures So.......

Ask a Question

I've had to post pictures on Facebook 2 weeks running because of the lack of care shown with my Tesco online grocery shop, does your shopping arrive anything like this or worse, how do you get through to Supermarkets that this is not acceptable when they have the monopoly?

What do you think of this?

That's totally despicable. I had the lid off a chocolate spread broken and the driver arranged for a refund. We shop at asda.

It's beyond belief really with the Pizzas Imnotcheap, when I picked up the boxes they felt extremely lumpy, well you would have thought somebody at the store would have noticed that themselves as they have to handle the products! 🙄 x

I've never had any issues with Tesco. Had food deliveries from them for years. Never had anything arrive damaged or defrosted. Had a few substitutions but always for a more expensive version of what we've ordered. Even had a few refunds on items as it was substituted and we got to keep the item.

You are lucky then MrsCraig , I've had Tesco deliveries for years too but they are rapidly getting worse and unfortunately, I'm beginning to dread each delivery! x

Jo, why don't you shop elsewhere? I would not continue to give them my custom. Sainsburys is my store of choice and if anything was bad as your pics I can just hand back to driver. So far has never happened but have had stuff with bbe date the next day. The refund is back in my account within 24 hours.

I guess any store is only as good as it's employees so I think you must have a particularly bad local Tesco store.

Lynibis I've looked at all the other Supermarkets Lyn and I can't get everything I want, that's the problem! If I'd have seen inside the pizza box or could have seen inside the banana bags, should I have had time of course, when I had the delivery.........

The store it comes from is a lovely store to go in too, it doesn't make sense! x

I get deliveries with asda and have had no problems with their deliveries. I was with morrisons but wasn't impressed with their customer service during lockdown. They were often rude and unhelpful. Definitely vote for asda

Asda for us for several years now, JoTarpley and very few complaints. If you are happy with yours locally, you can pay for a year's worth of delivery to save money and pre-book the same slot every week for convenience. I use their app. I have never had grim produce like that but sometimes things have been damaged and I have easily got refunds. Their drivers are friendly, I used to get one who reminded me of Sean Bean. 😊😍

AlisonBayne I didn't know that about Asda Alison, 🤔 that's very interesting, thanks for that! Say no more about your Sean Bean look alike, when he was younger I hope 😉 😁 😉 , that would make a pleasant change, a couple I've had lately have absolutely stunk of aftershave, I wondered why they felt they had to drown themselves in it to deliver shopping!! 😂 🤣 x

Yeah, that's not on - we've had various small issues over the years with all the supermarkets but never had any trouble with refunds. I'm annoyed the Asda refund policy is no longer done online. Worse delivery we had was with Amazon - I ordered a pack of thirty eggs - instead of laying them flat they stored them on their side. In a sealed bag (so couldn't see until delivery guy was long gone) Open up the bag and it's literally just a bag full of broken eggs seeping into the items they'd stacked them on top of.

Reminds me of a trifle before covid SuzJ I ordered this lovely Strawberry trifle, there was a small space in the delivery basket but not big enough to sit the trifle flat so they turned it on it's side and it fitted perfectly and that's how the delivery driver presented the basket to me, needless to say, he hadn't noticed!! 🙄 x

I have been with tesco for many years and generally they are fine, but we do get damaged items from time to time but they are always refunded with no questions. It did get worse when they stopped putting them in bags (unless you paid extra). You do wonder about some of the packing though - we have had more problems with things like yoghurts just loose in the large baskets - often get one with a punctured lid!

I forgot that one didbygraham , I had a punctured yoghurt in a 6 pack that had an outer wrapper, it was in the bottom of a pot inside the wrapper, not quite sure how they managed that one but it was awfully messy!! x

Tesco deliveries have always been excellent here in Yeovil for me, always in excellent condition but occasionally they have substituted items but often the substitutions are better than the original item ordered and discounted to the same price. However haven't used Tesco for many months as delivery costs are expensive, can't get a delivery slot and no vouchers to use. It's actually quite a while ago that I used Tesco and that was just a Tesco Express store. Worst delivery was Iceland where they delivered to a different address and didn't come with my replacement order until the next day and clearly it wasn't a fresh pick as they claimed as it came partially defrosted. I've never used Iceland deliveries since that but do occasionally buy instore. My mother had a Asda shop delivered where the fruit and veg was in very poor condition in fact her hand went straight through the melon she bought just by holding it, it was so rotten. Also had a Morrisons shop where a lot of the offers had been ordered and when the order came most of the offers disappeared so the value of the shop was quite poor and that put me off ordering from them again.

I'm not the greatest fan of Sainsburys for prices and hate the nectar reward scheme but their delivery service was excellent when I used it and Waitrose and Ocado are good too.

Well I'm glad you ended with a bit of good news BonzoBanana 😉 it's pretty dismal really all of it isn't it!

It's alright Tesco saying how many more drivers and delivery slots they've opened up, but at £4.50 a slot, if you can get one, paying again for bags and some items being sub standard, I don't think it's the general public they are helping, more like their own pocket! x
