Well, This Should Be interesting...!!!!

Other

Just out of curiosity... what do you call this:

Image

Iโ€™ve heard at least 4 different variations of names for this item, but I just came across an image which states that different areas of the UK call it something different!!!

Just for the record, I call it โ€˜BUNโ€™ (Iโ€™m from Birmingham in the West Midlands)

Image

Iโ€™d love to hear what everyone else calls it!

Feel free to comment your variation below, & optionally, where you are from in the UK.

This should be interesting!!!! โ˜บ๏ธ

โ˜บ๏ธ Iโ€™ve never heard anyone call it a roll ๐Ÿ™ˆ Apart from on the packaging of course ๐Ÿ˜‚ According to the image, you should be calling it โ€˜Bunโ€™ haha ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜‚

I'm from Scotland and we call it a morning roll, a bap and a barm! My husband is from Northern Ireland and it is very much a bap!

Oh my! Morning roll!!! Never heard that one before!! Itโ€™s very long lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ (compared to bun!) But according to the image youโ€™re correct for using that, as youโ€™re in Scotland โ˜บ๏ธ The only other variations Iโ€™ve ever heard of โ€™bunโ€™ are bap or barm. But here in The Midlands I think the term bun is widely used. The others sound SO foreign to me ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚

3rd person Iโ€™ve heard of who uses that term!!! It doesnโ€™t make sense to call it a โ€™rollโ€™ when thereโ€™s no rolling involved lol ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ & according to the above image thatโ€™s the correct term to use, as youโ€™re from the South ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I call it a bun too. Snaps! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป Oh my! Barmcake?!!? That sounds ridiculous ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ But it does say on the image thatโ€™s what they call it in the North West! & Iโ€™ve heard a few people call it a cob. Or bap or barm but those are mainly Northerners. Itโ€™s been very interesting to find out what everyone calls a simple everyday food item. I had no idea it could have 16 different names! Thatโ€™s a right achievement!!!!

Call it what you like as long as you fill it with corned beef and

Branston Pickle then forward it to me ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ I canโ€™t say I like either of those fillings, but hey you can throw just about anything in to a โ€˜bunโ€™ & itโ€™ll taste good ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜Š
