Is it Laziness Ordering through Uber Eats ?
Ask a Question
Been thinking of asking this question for a while .I am asking it as a month ago I ordered a KFC through Uber eats to arrive at 6pm , problem is they decided they wanted to bring our tea at 11am .
Jump forward to today and we was at Maccies and there was 20+ delivery drivers there and the car park was like looking at a taxi rank .
Do you order with Just eat or Deliveroo to bring your dinner/lunch?
I only ever ordered when I was a new member and they gave me a great offer. Now? I don't use it.
Heck, I uninstalled. Uber is still useful.

I think sometimes it is necessary to do things that will cut time in our busy lives and it's also a good idea to order in during this covid time
We very rarely get takeaways, due to £, but when I do, I normally try to go local, both our local pizza/burger place and the Indian takeaway deliver and it's free if you spend £15 but only problem is they are only open in the evenings. If you can afford it, go for it, I suppose they must do multiple orders so it may be cutting down on individuals journeys by car ....
I use uber eats probably about one a month / 6 weeks but only when i have a good voucher to use so at least 50% off, and only as a treat, otherwise i go without
I cooked up a burger meal today for myself using Sainsbury's items, it was roughly about £5-6 and if I'd had ordered a similar meal (x2) it'd likely cost me £20-25.
Yes, it is laziness ordering through any of them. The money spent on a ready meals (probably frozen, out of date, cooked by cheap labour, in an unhygienic kitchen) and delivery cost per item, per day will be astonishing. You lack discipline if you can't cook a basic meal and enjoy it.
jam45 we really have no idea how their kitchen is and if it's clean.
Doing ourselves at least we know how it is.
Or buy a ready meal from the supermarket, it's like £2.70 ~ £3.00.
The odd treat is fine, but ordering several times a week is just laziness. I don't know how people afford it.
We have fish & chips once a week which we phone through and collect. Around here there isn't anything like Ubereats or anything else like it - we are too rural - but then I probably wouldn't use it even if it was there.
Ordering through Uber Eats or Just Eat is okay if you can afford it, but as far as I'm lead t believe it's around £5 per delivery which is an awful lot of money to be paying to get a cold MacDonald's delivered.
Of course it's lazy if you do it as a substitute for cooking a meal . However after a hard days work , and feeling you deserve it and have earnt it thenwhat is the problem ?
Golfforall But at the same time it totally flies in the face of the cost of living and bills going northwards .
stuartsmith544 I agree , never had one myself . If you've done a hard days work and that is your reward fair enough. Can't imagine anyone could afford it on a regular basis ? Must run out of codes eventually ? Having said that I know folks who can't make a sandwich ,cook a pasta or beans on toast * things I learnt as a kid " -so can't be too judgemental .
I have never ordered a delivery in my life. I can not see the point of it. I would like my food served in a restaurant where I know it is going to bring hot and presented well, not warm and thrown around in a a bag. My brother is a smoker and a delivery driver, I would not take anything from him.
