Ive Gone off Strictly, Anyone Else?

Ask a Question

I’m beginning to think I won’t watch Strictly anymore. I love seeing the costumes but find the constant chat irritating.

Has it passed its best before date?

It’s been a long time since the last time I watched it. I don’t mind the dancing, but the dramas are usually all over the papers, which put me off

I haven't ever watched it and don't intend to start now. Documentary programs are much more my style.

I also don't like or watch it. I feel it is an unfair playing field with old and young competing together. They should have age groups.

No comments FOR the show so far, one would think a good cross section of people, so makes a bit of a puzzle of it's popularity.

I absolutely love Strictly! I've watched it for years. My Granny and I video chat after the show about who we thought was good, most improved, the outfits, the different techniques etc. When I was pregnant my son used to kick during the theme song, now he dances and tries to sing along with it. My Granny and I used to dance when younger so it's a bit of nostalgia for us too. I'm looking forward to Strictly this year, can't wait!

Oh sounds lovely that you and your Granny chat about it after each show, makes it a family affair.

Pjran it is lovely, her face lights up when she talks about it, it takes her back to when her and grandad did ballroom dancing when younger.

MrsCraig I’m sure those with a background of dancing appreciate the techniques and get pleasure of watching the stars improve as they put a lot of work into it. Unfortunately I’m not a dancer and never will be.

I love Strictly. It’s good to see how the contestants skills develop every week and is a positive message to everyone about what you can achieve if you put the work in. Most of the women in my extended family watch it, so we WhatsApp each other during the show, which makes it fun - a shared experience! 💃🏾🕺🏻

I used to be glued, week after week but I did find myself fast forwarding a lot of the show last year and only watched the actual results on a Sunday....can't put my finger on why though. Maybe it's a bit repetitive or the celebs are half way professional dancers from the start

I agree, it’s best to record the show then fast forward through all the chat but I’m not even going to do that this time.

I never really know the people who go strictly....also they chat a lot about them and one of the couple is amateur and kind of not fair to tell them off, even if they can not dance.

I never really took an interest in Strictly until last year when I dipped in & out. I like the line up this year so will give it another go this year.

Never watched it , pretty sure "Strictly " and other gut wrenching , vomit inducing Saturday night TV shows were introduced (years before COVID ) solely to drive people down to the Pub ?

Perhaps folks are now realising how really awful Saturday night TV is ? Until we get to Match of the Day that is .

Love your attitude you made me laugh. I’m not a football fan either so I would never watch MOTD.
