Jacket Potato Toppings
Other
I had jacket potatoes today and yesterday (like The Chimp I don't like food wastage). Yesterday I had tuna mayo filling and tonight I had just butter with grated cheese.
Used to love tuna mayo but gone off it on spuds and rated it 6/10 although I love prawn mayo, a great 8/10. But I have to say the cheese wins with 10/10 every time.
Do you share my likes or do you have a favourite one of your own?
i like to have bolonise on my jacket potatoes. Freeze bolonise left over and pop in microwave to defrost and reheat extra cheese
I like the idea of Bolognese (and Chilli) on a jacket spud, but not the reality. I suppose to me they signal pasta and rice. I love a heap of grated cheese on top of spag bol though.
Love tuna mayo but I either have slivers of onion or grated onion in the mix and it lifts it. (sounds strange, I know but it works) Another one is chopped diff colour peppers with frozen sweetcorn, blitzed in the microwave with a smidge of butter. The liquid from the sweetcorn and the added butter make it wet enough to soak into the potato.
It sounds a bit weird but the onion does work with tuna mayo.
I do eat peppers, but not my favourite thing, but would probably have the sweetcorn in with the tuna!
I like to have it with cheese and beans and side salad. I’ve tried other toppings but cheese and beans have to be my fav
I seem to have gone off baked beans in recent years but can see the appeal on a spud with cheese.
I usually have salad with mine too.
cheese and sweetcorn or cheese and ham, I don’t eat fish anyway but cheese and black pepper taste sensation like garlic bread!
Im simple to please so just cheese and beans for me please with an extra helping of cheese
Beans and cheese always! I’ve found it’s one of the most filling, easiest and cheapest dinners to make and my 16 year old step son approves every time!
sarahgreen15 Oh no, I can't condone that. It has to be cheese on first and beans on top so that the cheese gets extra melty
TheChimp in fairness I have an unhealthy cheese addiction so I would argue both - under and over the beans
