Sesame Street has its first Asian-American puppet purposefully named Ji Young.
In Korean Ji means smart or wise and Young means courageous and strong.
Ji also somewhat suitably means Sesame. At only 7 years old, Ji-Young is already making history as the first Asian American muppet in the “Sesame Street” canon. She is Korean American and has two passions: rocking out on her electric guitar and skateboarding. 
She had better watch out, miss piggy has a jealous streak , especially where kermit is concerned M 
oo sounds good, bring in more characters to make it interesting, even though they have a massive cast I'm sure she will be one that's remembered. its always good to show diversity and some mean guitar skills lol
The show already had "diversity," it's muppets. Why do people see the need to inject it with race and politics. Smh.
Here's hoping this character is treated with more dignity than others they've created after Mr. Henson died. It's sad he died in his 50's, he had so much creativity and originality to give to the world.
