Hi, I've now watched all four episodes of this and the same thing has occurred throughout all four episodes. Whether it be airport lounges, hotel rooms, spas or bathrooms. Josie seems to make a big issue about getting freebies everywhere she goes. As l understand things, the price that has been paid for these luxurious trips allows her to take all these products.. from ie, A pair of silk pyjamas to a collection of luxurious toiletries..they are already paid for by way of the extortionate high prices that each trip cost. (There is no such thing as a freebie) Also for the volume of food and drink that we see her consuming surely its far in excess of what the majority of people would eat due to the richness ( excuse the pun) of it all...l found this to be gluttony
Haven't watched but assume itv? They are meant to be struggling financially and cutting programmes right left and centre but they still keep sending presenters abroad on luxury trips just to promote their massive giveaways which most people have no chance of winning. Why can't they catch a train to a British destination or stay in the studio. All rubbish on t.v. these days on the main channels. Reality, talent shows, sport, all low cost and for minority viewers. But whatever we watch we're nearly always needing a licence at £180 per year.
I agree with your comment but I notice all the presenters on this morning fight over freebies when someone does a piece about cooking, make up, gadgets etc.
Lynibis You don't need a licence for itv you can just watch these programs on demand rather than live. I watch a lot of itv programs and don't pay a penny towards the TV licence. In fact if you watch itv x through a computer browser with ublock origin lite you don't even have to watch the adverts.
Lynibis it baffles me when I see that you know, that Jeff Brazier every time he seems to abroad sunning it up somewhere promoting a competition 
I quite like Jose Gibson , she comes across normal and down to earth . Saw the show the other night where she was in Hong Kong, and she did come across very excited a bit like a kid in a sweet shop but I think most people not used to that lifestyle would be similar . As for the freebies in this case to her, they were either genuinely free, paid by the companies as part of publicity or paid by channel 5 , so she made the most of them. She did seem to have massive amounts of food thou.
Mango4 I haven't watched the series, but I agree with you, Josie seems really down to earth.
She lives quite near me and has gone to one of our local pubs quite often, plus a friend of a friend is employed to look after her little boy when she's working. If she takes her son with her, her employee is booked into a room on par with Josie, not a lesser room, and she's always friendly and kind. When she's been in our local pub, she is fine with selfies and chats to anyone who approaches.
I genuinely think that she would be excited about getting freebies.
Mango4, please don't get me wrong..l quite like Josie Gibson..but the freebies (as such) that she was taking, we're not really freebies as such, as the cost of all the trips would of included all these luxuries.
I am absolutely sick of all the travel shows on TV am. They're cheap to make and just have some Z list celebrity no mark doing them.
So much TV nowadays is produced cheaply. People are spending more time on their phones or computers and traditional broadcasters are getting reduced income. I don't think its a surprise they are looking for formats that bring in decent number of viewers but don't cost a huge amount to make. Unfortunately the sort of programs I enjoy which is mainly science fiction is difficult to produce on a shoestring budget so I have little interest in new programs nowadays. I'm also not the sort of person who would pay for US streaming services. I've never subscribed to netflix or apple tv etc.
I did watch the first episode and whilst i enjoyed it, i think you are right in your assessment. I did notice she kept saying about freebies when she had already paid for it but i guess companies do call stuff complimentary in advertising, it’s always been a pet peeve of mind. If it’s a freebie then i should be able to have it without having to buy something.
Siobhàn, I remember Josie Gibson from her Big Brother days,she came across as likeable unlike some. I don't particularly like these shows where the c lebs get to go to different places & have no knowledge, give me a presenter who's passionate about the place they are visiting & has all the knowledge on it...
Jan, l like Josie and she was fun in Big Brother and yes please give me someone like Sir David Attenborough who would appreciate the culture and history and have read up on the place before visiting..l just found this show trying to show us how the very very rich have nothing better to do with their money than to show us material luxury in abundance, the amount of food that was laid out because said rich people could eat and eat was appalling..how the other half live is definitely not for me
Pinkspirit ,Yes Josie is fun but I want someone knowledgeable like 100 year old Icon Sir David Attenborough or our local Sheffield legend Michael Palin. I DON'T want to see these so called c lebs hobnobing with the weathly, we have Jayne Mcdonald now, perish the thought!!
Making all these unnecessary travel shows is just adding to global warming wasting fuel etc.
