Just for Fun: Name a Book with a Colour in the Title
Other
Thought we might have a bit of fun on this beautiful Sunday......
I’ll start with A Clockwork Orange
Blue Horizon by Wilbur Smith.
It is part of a series of books about the Courtney family by one of my favourite authors.
gerrykelly25 If you do, start with Birds of Prey as I think Blue Horizon is the 3rd/4th. Be warned it is the sort of book you can't put down but some very gruesome bits.
Blue Dahlia by Nora Roberts. The first of a trilogy about three women who work in a gardening store. The others are Black Rose and Red Lily
gerrykelly25 Well if I'm going to suggest the first of three you might as well have the rest. She's one of my favourite writers.
tara73ziva That's the title that came to mind for me immediately ....I expected it to be mentioned more .... I cried when I read it decades ago.
BORDERJOE it was the first one I thought of to and I am pleased I was not the only one who cried
Leannexxx I remember the book as being really sad, so I don’t know what they’ve done to the story!
The White Princess by Philippa Gregory. Henry Tudor marries Elizabeth of York to unify two opposing houses
Lol it was a toss up between that and Pimpernel but I tried reading Letter once and didn't get past first few pages, so obviously not as clever as I thought I was!
Man in Black - Johnny Cash. His first autobiography 1975.
Wish I'd bought instead of borrowing from library. First editions now selling for over £900.
The Colour of Purple by Alice Walker
The Woman in Black by Susan Hill
The Scarlet Letter - by Nathaniel Hawthorne Anne Of Green Gables by Lucy Maude Montgomery
To name but a few
It's surprising how many come to mind when you start thinking, surprised no one has mentioned 50 Shades of Grey gerrykelly25
beccatavender 50 Shades of Grey was the second mentioned (by Anne1984).
May I mention that becauses of the you put before gerrykelly25 he/she wouldn't have been tagged, tags require a space before and after them to be active. This will fetch it to his/her attention
Thank you for that, obviously I should read the thread more carefully as I didn't notice three books now davidstockport
beccatavender Don't worry about it, it can be difficult to remember what has been mentioned before. It gave me chance to mention that common mistake (not leaving space either side of tag) some others might be grateful for.
A Study in Scarlet - by Arthur Conan Doyle. The novel in which Sherlock Holmes made his first appearance.
The mystery of the blue train by Agatha Christie
The man in the brown suit by Agatha Christie
The crimson petal and the white. Only started it this week, as determined to make time to read more again!
