What Kind of Neighbours Do You Have?
Ask a Question
Surely everyone has the ‘The Car Parkers’ the family with two, three or even four cars who take up parking their cars in the road to cause problems for others trying to get past or the ’The Bin Day Person‘ who makes sure their bin is out ready even if that means getting up at 4am waking everyone up with the noise from the wheels on the ground. Or do you have the ‘The Curtain Twitcher’? If there’s information about other neighbours you need to know they’re the ones to get it from.
None of our neighbours are like that. My husband jokingly calls me neighbourhood watch because I do tend to know what is going on in the street but that's because I'm home all the time, but I'm not a curtain twitcher. We don't have anyone who blocks the road, or wakes us with the bins or curtain twitches.
For a while this year we had "The Noise Nuisance" neighbour. She had a few house parties that spilled outside and disturbed everyone in the area. And during April/May/June, when we were having heatwaves, she had a habit of having extremely loud, long phonecalls on her mobile phone, OUTSIDE, where she would walk up and down, shouting down the phone. Everyone's windows are open during that kind of weather, plus a lot more people were at home because of the lockdown, and you could hear every word she was saying. And sometimes she had the phone on speaker, so you could hear both sides of the conversation. It mostly happened during the day, but sometimes she'd do it at like 1am. There were other things too, she was just a noisy, inconsiderate person. It all stopped quite abruptly, so I think maybe a lot of people complained to the council and she got told off.
Probably was supposed to leave before the movie 3 month rule came in lol.. seems that rule benefitted the tenants rather than the poor landlords that get stuck with nightmare tenants!!
I Bet peace is now restored In the street
Am both if them if I fall asleep and its bin day I will drag them across stones even if 4am in morning and the extra bags. Am always in windows nosing but my neighbours don't mind they need fab am known ad street watcher even early hours morning. I can even tell you if number 74 went for the toilet
My neighbours are terrible for saving up rubbish, also household furniture and leaving it lying in her garden, it’s a nightmare, I had mice last year and I was absolutely terrified, she no longer speaks to me, her garden is stocked up again and they drive, we just all got new windows and doors u would think she would at least try and make it look tidy, to be honest i don’t care as long as I don’t end up with mice, bought two mice plugs so hopefully they keep them away
The ones I know of seem nice, next door is certainly The Car Parers or rather vans as they have several vans plus cars but have now got the sidefield to park in as well as turning space and their land!
Our neighbours are all fine now. We did have a problem with one who had dogs barking from 7am until 10pm. It all came to a head one day and the police had to come out. They were evicted in the end.
The only other thing is that a neighbour is running a business from their house when there is a covenant on all the houses in the cul-de-sac where it says it's not allowed. But we are in Wales, so greasing a few palms goes a long way when it comes to council permissions.
Everyone is very pleasant here overall.
Dogs barkin' hah. We have a neighbor who has a dog barkin' all night and it doesn't matter much to us, mainly because it's near the kitchen than the rooms and the living room.
One thing that kinda bothers me is that they eat grilled steak like almost every night. That ain't healthy.
PhilipMarc Why would eating steak bother you?
And how do you know that it's grilled?
We have a lot of that on my street but luckily our neighbour on the left has only car and neighbour on right doesnt have a car so luckily we can park van in front of house but a lot of neighbours on street have several cars.
Our neighbors are cool and respectful. Making people anti-social sing a good thing because sometimes y'all need to rely on each other.
Deep breath.....I have car parkers with performance exhausts that think revving the engine at 2 am is acceptable. I have the flouters who think the covid rules apply to everyone apart from them and even stole 6 weeks supply of PPE from the local hospital when one of them was admitted for covid. The age old classic of a curtain twitcher who needs to know what is going on at every given moment, have 2 cctv cameras facing at anything other than their property in case they miss the action going on in a sleepy village of 600 houses when the most exciting thing is a cat returning home after 3 days
Amazing lovely neighbours always caring, sweet. Lovely seeing them around really make my mornings some great people. In fact one of my neighbour is an elderly man who suffers from dementia and always checks up on me such a lovely chap
