LA Fires - so so Sad Already
In the News
Surely someone didn’t start this on purpose. Am just completely stunned. If this is true then what is the world coming to!
I have been watching this on the news this morning. I was wondering how it originally started and if done on purpose that is appalling. People online are saying the celebrities who have lost their homes are ok as they have more homes and money but they have still lost their homes and personal possessions, they are still affected by it.
eyeballkerry local people detained a man they claim started the fire deliberately, they handed him over to police
I'm not being cruel but they may have lost their homes and personal possessions, but they are still alive, health is more important than possessions to me, they cannot take it with them when they go....
Just caught a bit of the news saying he started the 2nd fire ? So maybe it wouldn’t have been quite so bad without his ‘help’. How on earth did they find him !
suevernon1968 maybe cctv. It is surprising how many people do bad things but forget there is often a camera watching them. I read once that you're caught on camera over 300 times a day. Not me, I am mostly indoors.
They have also arrested people on looting. Thought everyone was evicted from area, surely not that stupid and cruel.
LL81 i think that just shows that wee really do have some people that really dont deserve to be alive.
Yeah I saw a post on X saying caught people who set the fire! I am so shocked like wtf why the hell do that!! All those people being affected losing their homes and all the smoke in the air!
Just last month on the 29th in Korea a plane coming back from Thailand crashed only two people survived and now this…
Some good news , actor james wood went back expecting to find his home burnt to the ground and it was still standing, the only one around in one piece
He said he feels no joy having to see the devastation his neighbours suffered
Very sad for all those affected, it is shocking i always just think thank god nothing like this happens here. Makes you realise how lucky we are.
They are now saying currently the damage is around $200 billion which I can't get my head around, such a huge figure but then if 100s of homes are worth many millions and all their cars and possessions etc plus all the infrastructure and other buildings I suppose it makes sense. It's not finished yet either, more fires could happen and more areas may burn. This one fire may end up costing the same as a $1000 for every single citizen of the US. I.e. $300-350 billion. Home insurance premiums are going to surge to say the least and many homes were uninsured due to some insurers not offering insurance there due to the fire risk. How on earth are insurance companies going to pay for this when the costs are so extreme. It's like the GDP of a medium size country. I can see the fires are over such a huge area but these financial costs are incredible.
Then you think global warming and freak weather is likely to get worse than this and so these occurrences may be more common.
SaveMeSunday they have/had someone in custody for starting the 2nd part of the fire
