Anyone Else Feeling The Lack of Exercise?
Ask a Question
Well I for one am feeling the lack of exercis. I normally walk around 5 miles a day with doing back and for school runs. But today I am feeling that I am missing it. Started digging garden to lay some fake grass and boy my back is killing am actually sitting now with a heat pack it’s that bad labour don’t even hurt this bad. Anyone else feeling different with lack of routines you normally do.
I'm thinking of getting an excerise bike, although I'd have to put mine in the garden because my house is small. Fresh air and exercise is good though.
We have a ful gym in garage but weights is not the exercise am into husband in there everyday I have one of them power plates might have to give that a go but gardening is definitely not for me but I will put it right for kids then never garden again
You're allowed out to exercise and there's no restriction on duration. Go for a long walk.
Ann1984 if they can go with you, I think that's okay! Just keep them (and yourself) away from others.
MeestairChrees we be like a mass gathering with 6 of us plus my husband as said not to go out whice he is right our health comes first
I went out for a 20 minute walk last night for the first time in a week after all that clapping in the street and honestly felt like I'd walked 10 miles.
We need to be careful. I only went out because my other half made me!
Ann1984 Good for him. I'll start doing the same soon. The trouble is - confrontation is bad enough at the best of times but the last thing you want is to encourage human contact when one of these morons puts their pride before sense and comes up close to argue back! I wouldn't put it past some people.
Gutted I can’t go to the gym classes and I am at home eating more! There are a lot of virtual classes online so thinking of doing some of those
I'm trying to stick to my routine as much as possible, still playing tennis, cricket. Just changed it to play with my brother only thats all
I always used to take 3 long walks a week and I'm trying to keep to that, as much for my Mental health as Physical.
I've noticed a lot more people about though; a special mention to the imbecile family who decided to all sit on the footpath to have a picnic today, thus meaning everyone else had to swerve off the path into the field to keep a distance from them.
Hi ann1984 I am very lucky I live on a farm. And I get a lot of exercise. Any day now my lambing starts. The nears house is 5 miles away from me. So I am lucky. I've been in lock down now for 10 days. I will have to go out for food. At some point.
I've still been going for a walk everyday since the restrictions have been in place. The weather has been good over the last week, so it's been nice to get out and about.
I usually go for very long walks but they've not been as long as Id like since this started. But I’ve got loads of other bits and piece I like to do indoors anyway, and it’s definitely a good time to build on my strength. I’ve a chin up bar that I hope i successful get to use at the end of all of this
I am doing more exercise now as I am going on a daily walk with my dogs and my partner, he normally takes them by himself before work. I have also started watching YouTube videos to get some ideas for some inside exercises which you don’t need any equipment for. You can find some good tutorials which are not too long so you can fit them in around most things x
Well just a little update i cant have pulled muscle the pain is worse then ever I got feeling it’s a trapped nurve. I have tried everything taken codeine hour after ibuprofen but the pain is still there my oh give me a telling off for popping pills like they smarties but I just wont pain gone with demanding kids too don’t help
I have been doing exercise in the park. Today I took a basketball and played 31 with my boyfriend. He always wins but I am learning a lot as he doesn't mind teaching me other than that I make sure I get my 3 or 4x a week lifting routine. I have some push up handles, resistance bands and 4kg kettle bell. I do loads with those 3 things and some things available in the park. It's good to give my body a different kind of stimulus and missing the gym will only enforce how much I love to be going there
I've just read about Conbody Fitness. An American company that offers a prison cell style workout program that uses your body weight rather than equipment to get fit. It employs former prisoners to teach online classes. While I personally wouldn't want to pay for online classes, it's a reminder that the restrictions and a lack of space doesn't mean you have to stop exercising.
On the contrary. I have never done so much exercise on a daily basis.
I walk for 45 mins super early to avoid people. I found that joggers seem to like to go out in the daytime. I barely see another person when I leave the house at 730am.
I also have a fit bit to track steps and I am racking up over 20K+ daily. I also practice daily yoga for 50 mins. too.
Now that the weather is warming up, I have also been working in my garden to top up my vitamin D! It just feels so much nicer to get some fresh air.
With lots of time in self-isolation, I have not found that I have been bored, or indeed that I have missed much either. I think it's super important to have a basic routine and set you intentions for the day.
My biggest bug bear has been trying to get shopping delivered. However, a couple of small business that I am supporting, have delivered some dinners to me which has really helped me out. I have been really lucky to have great local support.
I have been missing the gym, mostly because I lack any weights at home and calisthenics was never the kind of activity I enjoy to partake. I have been going to the park 2 to 3 times a week but consistently putting in 3 to 4 workouts a week which means I won't lose my progress.
Most definitely feeling myself become more and more lazy by the hour but hay-o that’s just me
I love walking and still go out every day, so lucky to live by the sea, when the tide is out I walk along the waters edge on the Fylde coast miles from anyone else and its so peaceful.
My son and I used to go for walk every day. I haven't taken him out since a week before lockdown started. He is constantly running about the house and garden and I'm running around after him so not finding it too bad.
