Lasik Eye Surgery

Other

Who has opted for Lasik eye surgery and are there any good deals around? I've heard some horror stories about this procedure though.

Had it done 10 years ago with Optimax UK Leicester (They have branches nationwide) and have never looked back. They quoted me silly money like £3k, after some negotiating & shopping around with other providers got them down to £895 for both eyes including all aftercare appointments. So going abroad was pointless at that price

Glasses costs typically £100 + and lenses can cost anywhere from £5-£50 a month. I kept breaking my glasses due to amount of sports I play, loosing them, sitting on them etc..

The actual procedure takes less then 10 min, you feel no pain during as they numb the eye with anesthetic drops however once the anesthetic wears off then the pain does kick in for 1-2 days. Anyone that claims they got some new machine and you will feel no pain after is BS you.

Each case is different but best you shop around and get some quotes.

In recently had an eye test and I no longer have 20/20 visions I'm out of range by -0.25 which is so tiny I can barely notice so I'm thrilled I did what I did.

Alot of places will scaremonger you in using latest expensive laser machine that's all singing and all dancing. The way I looked it its still a laser machine its still going to burn a portion of my cornea (back of eye) whatever machine they give me.

This sounds like great feedback. I have contemplated it a lot but always feel too scared. I have worn glasses for over 15 years and contacts on and off. But with my astigmatism, I think it would be very expensive for me.

GlitchHunter Astigmatism they correct quite often as many patients have it, its just another angle for them to charge silly money. Generally speaking if your eyes are over -3 (long distance vision) you go into the higher category price range.

Get some quotes and discussions that part should still hopefully be FREE

Yahya Yeah, I will look more into it. My prescription is relatively low, but the astigmatism makes the vision much worse than it would be without the astigmatism! >_<
