Latest Deals 2019 Highlights: What Was New?

Merry Christmas everyone! 2019 has been a wonderful year for our little community and I thought it'd be nice to review and share with you the highlights.

850,000+ Members

In 2019 our humble little community doubled in size. 850,000+ Brits have signed up and a further 1.5 million people come for deals every month. It's so nice to see our message of saving money with savvy deals spreading. The number of Amazon vouchers we send quadrupled which I think is awesome. We're still the only deals community to give back. So thank you for introducing us to your friends and family. If you want to refer a friend, you can do so here.

Flash Deals

Flash Deals is a special area of the website which gives you access to exclusive discounts from Amazon sellers. We launched it this year and it's a huge help when looking for cheap gifts. Sometimes there are some mega bargains. Behind-the-scenes there's a big effort speaking to Amazon sellers every day and making sure the deals are a minimum 50% off for you. There's still a lot of room for improvement, so watch this space

Price Comparison

How do you know a deal really is a good deal? This year we introduced Price Comparison. Now, when you search for a specific product on Latest Deals you'll see price comparison results from 3,000 retailers. You can search over 10 million products with prices updated every day. Next year, we hope to integrate this further into deal posts so right there and then, you can see if it really is the best price or if it's cheaper elsewhere.

Latest Deals App

You got the Latest Deals app in 2019 too! Hats off to your tech-whizz Kelsey who worked around the clock for months to build it (along with everything else). Kelsey had to learn how to programme for the Apple iPhone and Google Android. And whereas other companies similar to Latest Deals have dozens of (very expensive) engineers to build their apps, Kelsey does everything himself. The app lets you receive daily round-ups of the best deals, and is free to download.

News

Who are the other members of Latest Deals? This year I wanted to shine a light on incredible members doing incredible things. There are now interviews published every day in News where you get to meet and be inspired by fellow deal hunters. And nearly every day, our community achievements are featured in national newspapers including the BBC, Mirror, Sun, Express and more. Thank you to everyone who has been involved.

Working With Brands to Create Exclusive Deals

One of my 2019 goals was to get us all bigger and better deals directly from brands. It turns out, this is really hard! Because Latest Deals is small, many big brands hadn't heard of us. But steadily, our little community is starting to get known This means we can get exclusive discount codes to help us all save money. For example, 25% off everything at BuyAGift. 50% off everything at Claire's. £5 off at FoodHub. Hundreds of meetings, coffees, and phone calls are starting to turn into better and better deals for us. So I'm really excited for what 2020 brings. And by the way, if a deal is in partnership with a brand, we'll always be super clear about it e.g. "Latest Deals has partnered with Awesome Brand to bring you this deal."

Extra 2019 Highlights

Thank you to our new helpers who give so much. You know who you are. With your help, we started to write mega threads for advanced deal hunters (example: Amazon Tips & Tricks), we find a dozen new deal stacks every day, we launched an Instagram and are now on Telegram, we grew our Facebook Group to 170,000+ members and our Facebook Page hit over 100,000+ fans. We now improve pictures and titles all day long to make sure the site looks lovely for you, we test links to make sure everything's working and with 1,000+ new posts every day, this is a huge task! So again, thank you to our helpers and kind volunteer Mentors. Latest Deals could not work without you.

There are many other highlights including our Black Friday app hitting the Top 10 of Google Play Store apps, and Deepak winning "Disruptive Entrepreneur of The Year".

What's Happening in 2020?

We have many plans but the goal remains the same as it has been since day one: To be the UK's Best Deal Hunting Community.
