Latest Deals App - Revamped!
Latest Deals
Hey everyone!
Version 8 of the free Latest Deals app is here! This is one of our biggest app updates yet, with a fresh new look, a new Daily Check-in, and lots of improvements designed to make finding and sharing deals easier.
The app is now rolling out for iPhone and Android!

Daily Check-in is here
The old Deal Round-up check-in has been replaced with a much simpler Daily Check-in.
It will appear when you open or return to the app. You can also find it at any time by tapping Menu → Daily Check-in.
To check in:
- Open one of the featured posts.
- Visit the retailer to take a proper look at the deal.
- Return to the Latest Deals app to complete your check-in and collect your points.
You do not need to buy anything.
Most daily check-ins are worth 10 points, with bigger milestone rewards as your streak grows. Day 7 is worth 30 points, Day 14 is worth 50 points, Day 30 is worth 100 points, and there are even larger rewards later on. The app will always show how close you are to your next bonus.
Keep checking in and you can also earn Streak Savers If you miss a day while you have one available, it can protect your streak. You can hold up to three, and there is also a chance of receiving a 2x points bonus when you check in.
Who can build the longest streak?

A fresh new look
We have refreshed the app from top to bottom.
The new navigation makes it easier to move between Home, Chat, Share, Inbox and Menu, while the updated home feed puts more focus on the deals themselves.
You can quickly jump between All, Vouchers, Competitions, Flash and Freebies, and clearer cards make prices, discounts, comments and Get Deal buttons easier to scan.
Menus, filters, forms and settings have also been tidied up so the whole app feels more consistent.

More useful features
The updated app includes lots of practical additions throughout the app:
- Competition countdowns now show how long is left before entries close.
- Verify Voucher lets you choose an existing voucher and help confirm it with a screenshot from the retailer’s website.
- A new onboarding experience helps new members choose favourite shops and categories, personalise their deals and earn welcome bonus points.
- An improved GIF picker makes it easier to add GIFs to Chat and comments.
- Points history and notifications have clearer wording and icons.
- Sharing, deep links and notification handling have been improved.
- We have made many smaller performance, reliability and accessibility improvements on both iPhone and Android.

Thank you for being part of Latest Deals
Jackscot Its very rare I use the app. I prefer the layout on the website. It’s what you get used too. I will have a look and see what has changed and if it makes it easier for me. I have used the website for years and know exactly where to go when I’m looking for deals, competitions, chats and freebies. Just had a quick look now and I will definitely be sticking to the website. I can’t find half the things I am looking for. Maybe there somewhere but has to be easy for me. Can’t even find the chat section. I am very happy using the website
TheChimp haha fair enough! There's always a trade-off where some people will prefer something one way and others another.
Arguably just having to open the app once and perform a defined, specific, action is easier for some people than having to hunt down a check-in box between 3 broadcasts.
We've also added in the concept of "streak savers" that you can earn so that if you miss the occasional day your streak isn't ended.
But I totally understand - for some, the previous system would have been preferable.
We're hoping this is, overall, a net positive for most people but we'll of course listen to community feedback and keep an eye on the stats and change/tweak things accordingly.
The old system is still available on Android for now and iPhone if you don't update the app so make use of it whilst it's still there
TheChimp yea I found this. Seems I’m lost my run of points aswell.
Sometimes if it’s not broken don’t fix it
SarahHorsfield just had 7 days left for the daily round ups of points now that it’s gone not good like you said should have just left it as it was lol as it was easier
Jackscot I agree, plus I don't use the app either and have an Android phone, will have to wait a while and see what people think.
Don’t think I will be able to understand it sorry. Just 300+ points short from my next reward, I will have to earn them and I will be off
CarolNettle hey it's pretty easy and will help you get those 300 points you need. If you use the Latest Deals app, all you have to do is open the app. Then you'll see this pop up:

It will give you points every day if you follow the easy step.
Available as an update on iPhone now, coming to Android soon.
TheChimp oh no after all this time, Jesus that’s bad !!! Is it going to get sorted or what?
We are all good thanks.Hope Mrs Chimp and Harvey are good
Seems like this will benefit the regulars as there are so many good and great deals. I buy lots and it's just a shame that we can't get extra points?
kloddy2001 Hey, everyone can get the points. You just have to open the app and follow the step.

Available as an update on iPhone now, coming to Android soon.
Free points to go towards your Amazon voucher rewards
Seems my app updated today as I had the new look when I went to check it earlier today. The check in thing didn't work seamlessly, I clicked to go through to a retailer link and didn't get awarded the points. I then closed the app and opened again, I clicked another retailer link and it said I did not spend the required browsing time to get the check in. The check in worked 3rd time round.
I also had a problem with rating deals on the app, it kept saying already voted and the count (eg. 2/25) did not go up. All worked fine on the website though.
So the new system is being used to push focused traffic to certain deals which I assume means your also getting paid for the traffic to those sites/deals. So this new check is a no for me once this is pushed to android I won't be participating in the daily check-in any further.
Husky79 Hey By default the list just shows the most popular deals but we do have the ability to customise it and may look to include sponsored deals on occasion or feature things like our Whatsapp Channel to promote that. We've always been very open about how Latest Deals makes money and, ultimately, it helps fund the gift cards we pay out from the points all members can earn. All said and done, you are of course very welcome to not participate if it doesn't sit right with you
(an option to prevent the daily check-in popup appearing will be added to the app in a future update. It's on the todo list!)
Kelsey what doesn't sit right is your now forcing people to click on a link to an external source to check-in where previously that was not required (your basically increasing site/app traffic) hence your targeting traffic to featured vendors, but anyway I will look forward to the option to prevent the daily check-in pop up asap. Thank you for the response.
jammmeyyy oh dear ah well it is what it is. I did read that they said it’s easier to earn the extra points? But it seems like a hassle cause you have to now open links to website and then come back onto the app to claim the points or something… some members saying it’s okay others not happy about the new changes
I'm so close to reaching the points I need but I'll definitely download the app because I'm here every, I like my daily deals . But it'll be a couple of days until I get to my points level and then I'll be on it
I just claimed mine, very straightforward however disappointing to find only 5 to choose from. Please keep at least one main stream retailer each day like today’s as so often I have opened a link for a message come up “not trusted and bad link!”
Maybe if you can check each link before adding to the daily list to ensure it’s a safe link as a suggestion? emmabeckz Tom Kelsey
jillylovesyou Hey thanks for this feedback - it will change every day and by default is simply the most popular deals as voted by members for the day.
I’m confused. I get the check in for 10 points but the rating of the deals every 3 hours for a total of25 points every 3 hours doesn’t seem to work now. Just says you can’t rate deals that quick. Anyone able to explain to a technophobe
FrancesWinch Hey yes sorry we are aware of that Rate has a bug in the new update and we hope to have this fixed and updated early next week!
FrancesWinch it says this but then it does count the deal rated towards the 25 deals you have to rate to get the points. So basically just keep rating until you get a notification saying you have got the points, if you want to know exactly the number you have rated you can leave the rate the deal screen and re enter and it should tell you how many you have done.
