Some kind of an incentive for users to socialize/comment on deals and stuff would be cool. We don't have much of that here which is a shame.

Another idea is for LD to cover other countries as well. The Pepper network works for what it is but the way things are handled by LD seems overall better (much more organized, well presented, well detailed and all that).

Hey Tom perhaps I should’ve checked this before I posted a topic - was wondering if an additional feature could be added?

here’s the link to the topic

Regarding the Top Deals - let your winners run?

On the desktop:

  • The default Number of Top Deals is TEN, and
  • The default Display Duration is ONE WEEK.

Sometimes it seems that excellent popular deals get buried from view too quickly (whilst the offer is still running), such that many users may miss seeing them entirely.

I think the desktop display of Top Deals would be more user friendly if:

  • The Number of Top Deals was increased from 10 to say 15
  • The default Display Duration was increased from One Week to Two Weeks - on a daily rolling basis

That way more popular deals would be available to be viewed by more people, for longer.

Something to test maybe?

How about an Amazon wish list function so you can save deals and go back to them - bit of a pain to search for them!

Good to have them either in an app so you can check out what you need when out shopping - ie shopping list function!

Interesting idea thank you. We tested this with our Black Friday app. You can save deals and come back to them. It seems to be a popular feature so will have a think!

garygemmell This really does sound a good idea. I've seen me liking a deal and then going into my Amazon Account to put it in my basket. This saves me a lot of time searching

I think there is a glitch in the 'notifications'. My notifications are numbered on any screen accessed but if I actually look in older notification posts there are always many others previous posts that need me to like the comments. I think it is harder for me to thank everyone who posts on the comps that I put on, partly because there are quite a lot of them, but it would make it easier for me if the notifications worked as well as they used to do originally. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes, there seem to be ongoing issues with this. I’m on iOS and the non notifications is a regular occurrenc. And I’ve found it happens on the chrome on my desktop. I think Kelsey is sorting it

hspexy I think it's been going on for some time now and I do find it frustrating so I would be very pleased if Kelsey is able to sort it out. Thanks for letting me know that he is on the case.

Kelsey I think something must be up withthe site overall? It’s taking ages to load the comments and notifications. BTW I did get the notifications bubble pop up with the number 2 in it...but I had 5 messages! Lol either way, must be working again

tumblespots Well, I was very hopeful this morning as things started well yesterday but sadly not all my notifications were at the top of the page, I think it said I had 4 but when I clicked on others further down the page there were clearly more that I hadn't been told about. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

tumblespots Morning 🙂

Just to double check so we're on the same page - you should get a notification bubble with unread notifications. When you click to visit the notifications page the notification bubble will disappear (i.e. it is reset to zero). On the notification page itself things you've clicked on will be greyed out.

So, for example, you may have 4 unread notifications in the red bubble. When you click to visit the notifications page this will be set to 0 - irrelevant of whether or not you've clicked on each individual notification.

That's how it's supposed to work at the moment - does that fit with what you're seeing?

If it does - great, as that means there isn't a bug. However, there's definitely an argument for it working differently - perhaps only decreasing the unread notification count when a notification is clicked on. Let me know what you think 👍

If it doesn't - no worries - please let me know and I'll investigate more.

Thanks for your feedback/help with all this and sorry you've been having trouble!

Kelsey I get a number (this morning it was 4) on my ladybird. I click on it and open the notifications page. The number disappears. I then click on the top four and like the comments posted. However, further down the page (after other items that are greyed out) there are more notifications that are not grey, but neither are they included in the number of notifications to be read. Some of these also have comments to like - but not all. I thought that the latest notification automatically rose to the top of the page but they don't seem to - perhaps it is my own expectations that are incorrect?

tumblespots Sorry for the delayed response!

Is it possible that something like the below is happening:

- You have 5 unread notifications

- You visit the notifications page

- Your unread notifications are reset to 0

- You visit 3 of the 5 notifications (marking 3 of them grey in the process)

- You leave LD

- On your return to LD you have 5 more unread notifications

- You visit the notifications page again

- Your unread notifications are reset to 0

- You'll have 5 black notifications at the top, followed by the 3 grey notifications you read previously, followed by 2 black notifications that you didn't get round to the first time.

I've had a quick glance at the code and it should list all the notifications in chronological order. But if you feel the above isn't what's going on please let me know (and do be honest! 🙂) and I'll dig into the code and see if I can get to the bottom of it.

Edit: Scrap the above - I've found a bug in how the notifications work. Attempting to fix it now 🤓

Edit #2: Should be sorted. Please let me know how you get on going forwards 🙂

Would it be possible to have a button on each page that says 'I've won this' and when someone eventually does win they can click it and it would let the poster know that someone won from their posting - it is lovely to know that one of the other members of LD benefits from the OP.

It'd be great if LD was a more popular deals' website because HUKD still reigns as the number one website for deals in UK.

How? Word of mouth works but obviously not enough.

Take a look at this: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/2-pizzas-and-a-4-pack-of-budweiser-5-co-op-now-live-plus-other-takeaway-meal-deals-for-world-cup-2954067

The users interact, socialize and there's even about two employees of Co-Op who confirm how the offer works. So, this sort of stuff.

HUKD is still the go-to website for deals in UK so that probably may never change unless its userbase decides to switch to LD or w/e.

The incentive to post is noice but it doesn't seem to be attracting too many people, sadly.

Hey guys thanks for the category suggestions 🙂 It's actually a really tricky thing to get right - having enough categories so that everything has a home whilst not having so many that it's overwhelming for new members and/or ends up with empty categories that don't have enough posts.

  • Pets: I think there's definitely an argument for this as it really doesn't fit anywhere other than "Other" at the moment. That said, even though it's a definite contender for "other" we do have a pets tag page - https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/tags/pets which features all our pets deals. I'd be curious to know if you guys knew about this and if you think it's enough or if a separate category would be better?
  • Entertainment: Could you perhaps expand on what you mean by this? And perhaps some examples of posts that would fall under this heading?
  • Breaks/Holidays and days out: I think this probably fits under travel at the moment? My fear would be if we split this up there perhaps wouldn't be enough content in either category?
  • Education: Would be great to get some examples for this too so we can have a think about why/how it might be added.

Thanks again for the suggestions! Please do challenge any views I've expressed in this comment. We're always open to change and feedback and actively encourage being proven wrong so that we can improve! 😃

In the Chat Forum, I would sometimes like to be able to give the original chat post a 'Like'.

It seems one can only give 'Likes' to subsequent Comments from other users, and not to the original chat post.

Tom Tom, could you please look into the moderation of my chat posts , i keep getting them removed , its five since last night, one after the other, two were duplicated , one from over a year ago so i accept them being rejected , but one was removed as religious or political and it was not, it was about a sailors chant and the words being changed,www.latestdeals.co.uk/chat/shall-drunken-sailor-becomes-grumpy-pirate-song-change and now i just had another removed as not being a genuine offer ?? www.latestdeals.co.uk/chat/replica-white-house-built-top-indian-skyscraper

This is happening on a regular basis and i do get help from Emma but a lot of the time my e mails are not answered. I would just like a bit of fairness here and to find out why it keeps happening, i have had hundreds of chat posts removed over time , some with no explanation but generic reasons that dont make sense , thank you

Edit post number 6 just rejected yet again

Why did you remove the option to search by the savings % ?? Maybe I only want to see the deals that’s over a certain %. I don’t think anyone wants to know that a £1 item is now down to 90p.
