Is Latest Deals a Marmite Site?
Other
I only ask, as I love it for all the latest bargains and deals, and I hate it because it makes me spend all my money!!
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like this?
P.s I really love this site Tom! Keep up the good work!
I like to think that when you buy ahead, you save ahead: You would have bought it one day, and probably at full-price. Buy it half-price now and you save for your future self.
A recent example is a paint sprayer. I saw a half-price deal on here and bought it, even though I wasn't intending to paint the fence for a couple of months. I've now painted the fence, and as it happens, there were no deals on at that time! So saved myself from buying something full price and my fence looks nice
Of course, you have to be sensible and not splash out on things you'll never use... And for that sensible advice, we have our money-saving guides!
p.s. I love Marmite.
Tom This was just my thinking when I bought those 2.3KG boxes of Celebrations Chocolates on Black Friday, to save on the price of Christmas chocolate.
Of course the fact that they were eaten by early December is the one flaw in an otherwise fine ethos.
Nice job Tom , looks great . Hope the other side looks as good ? You know it seeps through on many fence types .
The reason why I have added this advice to many similar deals . As of course we all should as members of the LD community . Some of us aren't members just for the vouchers
Nothing and no one can make you spend all your money. I have been an active member for a few years but have only ever bought possibly two things on here.
I will reserve judgement until all deals posted are actually deals ! And "Likes" are not rewarded by points . It could be an excellent site once the founders get the message that too many members are using it as a "voucher earning " site . It is getting better (many posts for points being removed ) , but still a long way to go .

Two on one day slightly different. So many same/similar, lots of points awarded for more or less same thing.
Lynibis I did say getting a bit better ! At the moment anyone can post any item from any site and gain points whether it is a deal or not , as so many sadly do . However I have noticed a stronger moderation in the last few weeks and many of the obvious serial site abusers appear to have disappeared .
Golfforall I asked a mentor the other day about a deal she posted for normal price. It was polite and friendly but it was the normal price and not reduced. Needless to say I got no reply.
It saves you alot of money but I have never ordered so much stuff from Amazon since using this site alot more recently as was looking for certain items due to new baby due and moving house I've ordered from amazon at least 3 times a week some time daily. On the plus side I have lots of bargins, I'm finally making use of my prime membership which I've paid for for years, I have lots of lovely stuff I probably wouldnt have bought all of it in one go if wasnt so cheap so wouldn't have had to wait to buy and theres stuff I've ordered which I'd never even thoght to look on amazon for. The only down side im finding is I now feel guilty keep using my next day delivery option so I've resulted to selecting Thursdays
MelanieMason I'm the same when it comes to Amazon, I used to use Ebay more. Didn't realise Amazon had so many bargains and with free delivery to boot using my Prime membership! The things I do buy, I do use, so this is a very useful site! Good luck with your new baby and house move. You're going to be very busy! Ha ha!!
