Latest Deals Have Worked with...
Ask a Question
Can someone please explain what it means when a latest deals team member adds to their posts ‘latest deals have worked with...’?
Had a look at the guidelines but couldn’t find anything.
Sponsored Post , Latest Deals has been paid to feature the item prominently . It's what pays for your Amazon vouchers .
That explains why their posts are always on the front page whether they’re a good post or not.
Thanks for adding this. I just got a bit confused as to why yesterday in your Flava post you stated ‘latest deals are not involved in this company’ when in the description of your post you wrote ‘latest deals have partnered with Flava‘.
Dennab Of course if Latest Deals removed all the members who post non deals purely for the points the money saved on vouchers would mean that less of these "sponsored deals " (which are often very poor) would be needed ?
summa68 Hey
I apologise if there's been any confusion - we always try and be transparent when we've worked with a company to share a particular offer.
Dennab's interpretation above is correct. Latest Deals does not have any connection with the company outside of an agreement to share the post. I agree that does mean there's technically some form of "involvement" - we'll try and be more clear/specific with our wording regarding this going forwards
Golfforall just a quick nod to acknowledge your comments generally and say they haven't gone unheard. I hope I can share some movement on points soon!
Kelsey Thanks for that Kelsey . I do drop heavy hints all over the site about what has become an institutionalised problem on the site . It is frustrating that these members stick out like a sore thumb even to a casual site browser . These site abusers do not even attempt to post real deals whilst daily harvesting points . If these members are obvious to me they must surely be known to you yet the same usernames continue to do the same every single day . Its not subjective that dozens of members are posting non deals solely for the points its a fact .
Golfforall Tricky I suppose because it is partially subjective opinion although yes some are quite obvious. I'm just thinking how it could be done technically. We're talking about some pretty clever algorithms!
Dennab Manually (you know a human being ) , Just notice 3 deals from the same username posted in the same minute , then click on their profile and you will see they do the same thing every day for months often with 3 vouchers . Certainly on a laptop they stick out like a sore thumb . These are not just poor deals , or subjective deals they are simply click and paste non deals posted purely for the points .
Exactly three posts in 1 minute every single day for months in some cases its not rocket science to spot them .
Everyone posts poor deals fair enough but the sheer quantity of these deals for points fills the site with such non deals and cannot enhance the credibility of the site as a Deals site .
Just one more comment from me before you lock this too...
Uniqueone Your views are based on wrong assumptions. She didn't 'find' the deal. She works for Latest Deals. It's her job! This is how it probably played out... Somebody in the office (a manager I'm assuming) said "hi Emma, how's things? Here are your tasks for the day. One of them is an advertising feature with Flava. You'll find all the text and images on the network drive in the sponsored deals folder. Please make sure you post it at our peak time of 16:30 so it gets maximum exposure."
Emma is not a member of this website like you and I. She is an employee of a company doing as her employer has instructed. You are attacking the wrong person my friend. I gave you three names. Tag them or better still, put your concerns into an email complaint instead. I'm sure they will respond with an apology if that is the appropriate thing to do as a business. I couldn't comment on that.
Have you ever heard of the phrase "don't shoot the messenger"? That is exactly what you are doing.
Uniqueone No it's me explaining your misunderstanding. It's not an attack at all. As you said, earlier "don't be ridiculous". Just read what I've said, understand some of what you have said is wrong and move on. If the whole thing's upsetting you, I'll happily back off but maybe step back and have a think about how that member of staff feels with multiple people attacking her, yeah?
Hi Whilst I agree the comment is off topic I don't think it falls foul of the personal attack rule - I took it to be a genuine attempt to articulate an alternative point of view.
I appreciate and respect that you may hold an alternative view yourself but I would ask that you direct any complaints about deals shared on behalf of Latest Deals to Latest Deals generally or, if preferred, you are welcome to direct them to me, personally. The responsibility and repercussions of the offers Latest Deals choose to share lands squarely at mine, and my fellow co-founders, feet. The other members of the LD team sharing deals are ultimately just doing their job and, as one of their employers, I owe them a duty alongside every member of LD to protect them from harassment or an unpleasant working environment.
All that said - I appreciate everyone's input to Latest Deals, including yours, and the discussions on the site for the last day or so have sparked many interesting conversations and decisions within LD and that can only be a positive thing
I'm going to close this topic now as hopefully the original question has been answered. I don't like to comment and not give the opportunity for response so please do reach out via the contact form (and tag me in your message) if anyone would like to clarify anything further.
