Let Migrants Drown?

News

Ok so I know this is going to be a controversial one! This morning on my Facebook a bbc news story was shared about migrants found on a boat in Dover.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-kent-46525899/six-migrants-are-rescued-from-a-dinghy-off-dover

What was sickening and very upsetting was the comments that followed eg should have left them to drown, put a pin in the boat, turn them round ect. Do you feel so strongly about immigration that you would let someone drown? Migrant or not these are humans!

Just vile. People completely devoid of empathy and compassion. Just how bad can a situation be that there are those that would risk this?

This is such an emotive subject and I really cannot see a solution. We cannot just let people in indefinitely but we would also not be human to place them in any sort of danger. If only the world would stop making war we would not have the problem. We should all be working together to fight poverty and hunger.

We should let them all in and give them free housing and a monthly allowance. Not their fault they have to flee their country. As a rich country we should help others with open arms for the benefit of humanity.
