Ok over last 24 hours my auto correct not really been nice to me on here lol
so let’s type into our phones and let auto correct do it’s work.
am not going to do at moment due to what came out last night maybe davidstockport would like to go first but if I let this topic be auto corrected you all would have a laugh
Strange but as you were typing that I was commenting elsewhere that the two hilarious typos you've created (within 24 hours) had nothing to do with your spell checker they're known as "atomic typos" where the spell checker can't detect a mistake because the incorrect words - Bought for Brought; Her for Here etc. are actual words.
To explain better there is actually an atomic typo in your opening post. You used "it's" instead of "its". but it wasn't detected because "it's" actually exists. (short for "it is") The possesive of IT doesn't require an apostrophe. Confusing innit
Ann1984 We all make errors, I usually spot mine seconds after hitting the submit button, one of mine (even though I'm quite aware of their proper use) is "there for their" I spotted it then before I hit reply.
The iPhone and iPad autocorrect has been a right pain up my backside ever since I started using smart technology! I can never get a full sentence out without it messing it up! I usually just ignore the error, and I’m much better at ignoring it these days, but it drove me mad previously
I think on this occasion it has nothing to do with the phone or the spell checker, if a mistake is made in the spelling of a word - a letter omitted or added (some call a typo) and the resulting word is a valid word then even the best spell checker can not detect it.
In Ann's case the word HER was supposed to be HERE (which made her comment sound almost filthy), and some hours later BROUGHT became BOUGHT which made it sound as if a woman had purchased her children, They say lightning never strikes twice - it gave us both a laugh, and hopefully a few others saw the funny side too.
Atomic typos, as they're known, are very common on here, and most other forums, but most aren't remotely funny.
