LG Scraps Its Mobile Phone Business

I've had one LG phone in the past and remember it being very good for the time. So many companies have exited the mobile business. I remember HTC being a big player but they don't seem to be about now.
It seems like there is Apple and Samsung for premium phones plus a lot more price focused brands like Motorola and Alcatel. I tend to buy low cost but decent quality Chinese brand phones but my current phone is a Ding ding a Malaysian company.
