Lidl to Introduce Fun Size Trollies for the Kids

In the News

What do other think of this new idea from Lidl. Small trollies exclusively for the children .

Do you think like me it will be annoying and obstructive in the store especially as Lidl stores are already quite cramped, or do you think it's a good idea?

I agree with you. I don't think this is really needed.

It depends if the parents are going to have a big one along side this. Then yes it is a bad idea. But if its just a child trolley then i think its a great idea. As this will be a great experience for children and will make shopping more fun for them

I agree the children will enjoy it, it's just more the practicalities , chances are the parents will have a large trolley also which means children innocently, pushing these trolleys around a busy store in everyone's way My local lidl doesn't have wide aisles and is usually quite busy particularly I find around the fresh produce section.

Noooooooooo just another thing to bash into people's legs. I am sure our local store is like countdown for letting obstacles in, 2 pushchair, 1 Mobility scooter, a random wheelchair, a kid on those trainers with wheels....... kids trolleys would take the biscuit

I think it’s a great idea especially that there is a handle on top for adult to control it. My son loves using them but I would only use off pick times when store is quite empty and only if I’m doing a small top up shop.

Mmm. This is a hard one. It sounds like a nice idea but in practise I think it would be hard to keep children from whizzing around and accidentally (or even naughtily) bashing into things. Old folks legs for one. I can also imagine parents getting pestered to put things the kids want in the mini trolleys and suspect this is the thinking behind this as I am rather cynical of any ideas like this. Stores do not do it to be nice, but to make money.
