A lie detector is as trustworthy as believing someone to be telling the truth without actual evidence.

So, no.

I think that 'normal' people would find it hard to cheat a lie detector. However, some people like psychopaths, narcissists etc could easily do so as they do not react in the same way to fear or guilt. I believe spies are taught how to relax, keep calm, even out their heartbeat so they could beat the lie detector......or have I been watching too much James Bond!

Yes, there are ways to easily lie thru a lie detector.

People who think a lie detector will prove they're innocent aren't helping their case. I've seen folks on a TV show wanting to be tested on a lie detector so that it'd show their family members he/she was being honest.

I’d like to do one, not that I have anything to hide, but just to see if it worked. Surely if it was 97% accurate it would be used in court but then I suppose it would need to be 100%
