What Do You Like/dislike about January?
Ask a Question
How do most people get through what seems like 500 days of January? Any ideas would be welcome
I'm biased as I have my birthday in January plus a few other close family members have it too
I like the fresh start feeling and feeling motivated to do challenges
But I get why people feel it drags .. I would suggest trying this app called 21 days challenge. It's full of Positive affirmations, self help tips, challenges, social media detoxing etc
I hate it, but not as much as December. I take my leave in January to try and give it a positive spin. Getting out of the house into the fresh air and natural light helps me.
My birthday is in January and so is my sons, but I still think it's a long cold month and moneys always tight after Christmas. The OH usually has a bit of time of work though so we try to relax and just make the most of it.
The evening getting longer is the best part of January for me especially when it is nice cold dry weather
The very low temperatures. I work outdoors and it takes quite a while for my old bones to get used to it first thing in the morning. Wouldn't change that outdoor feel though. Could never have a job working indoors again.
January isnβt too bad, as itβs My birthday, my mums and my sons (within 12 days of each other).
Some years itβs been worse than others but we managed (work etc).
I can understand why people do hate January, I have friends whom hate January.
I love using up all the food from Christmas that I over-bought or we were given (most of our children give us food hampers). It's also good getting all the post-Christmas bargains in the supermarkets and trying not to buy anything at full price!
I find it tends to be one of the cheaper month as we do end up using up a lot of the Christmas excesses (and gifts), and generally eat less, although thats probably why it always feels like the longest month!
Itβs the first month to a new year, so great for opportunities and to have a positive outlook. Itβs just a shame itβs quite a cold month
It's a really dreary month (weather wise) you have really cold & grim days that are great if you are staying in but terrible to go out and drive in heavy frosts & snow (maybe soon?).
Worse month of the year, anti climax after Christmas, Back to work, cold, wet, gardens are bare, nothing really to look forward to, dreary all around and it seems to last twice as long as any other month.
I hate that it seems such a long month before you get paid, but like the Sales, I have a lot of family and friends Birthdays in March, so I try to be organised and buy all my gifts in the Sales
I personally don't have anything against January, it just so happens that this January has been a bit tough for a few different reasons, but in general January is no different than any other month for us.
When completing paperwork, I always forget and put 2021 down when its 2022 it annoys me but still its going great
Dislike most of it. Usually I'm hoping Jan/Feb will be over quick but never seems to be the case lol
I don't hate January it's just the same as any other month apart from it's my birthday yesterday
I do dislike the temperamental weather, one minuet its sun and warmth the next scraping ice off the windows and then the next being blown away
It was mostly the vegan/veg stuff they were trying to push desperately that was the worst part, aside that, a normal month.
I used to always think that January was the only month of the year that seemed to go on forever but now I think it goes by quick, maybe that's just part of getting older as the months seem to fly by.
Depends if I can visit Spain. If I'm there then I love January but if I'm not...I despise it lol
