Do You like or Loathe Artificial Plants?
Ask a Question
I used to hate artificial plants and flowers but changed my mind a couple of years ago. Now, I have several artificial plants in dark corners that look beautiful, also have a few orchids interspersed with live ones which look so real my friend actually watered them when we were away
that’s funny but yeah. Artificial you get some really nice ones. I saw a Pearl drop one I’d like. But have few already around home. Can’t kill them. Not even with kindness. Lol
I think artificial plants have really improved in the last few years and are now a lot more realistic. I have a tendency to kill plants, over or under watering so I am a fan
Glad to know that it isn't just me who has a tendency to unintentionally kill plants. They have an extremely short lifespan when they are in my care.
Although gardening is something I'd like to improve on.
I hate them (although I have a couple that I put on the window sill in winter when others aren't in flower ) .
A plant requires a bit of nurture at times but it's a living thing and also filters your air . You wouldn't have a stuffed dog or cat as pet would you ?
Just water it , care for it and it will repay you a hundred times over (and won't scratch your furniture or leave whoopsies on the carpet ).
I had two M&S orchids delivered £30 each, I’ve already killed one so I’m happy to stick with the artificial ones, so realistic.
I would always go for artificial. Hate gardening and real ones would die too soon as I would lose interest in the plants
I don't mind artificial plants, but don't actually have any at the moment. Some of them look really nice, very realistic, but I do prefer real ones.
Some artificial ones are so lifelike it’s had to see which is real. The finger nail test is sometimes the only way.
I haven't got any at the moment but I like them. I like flowers and plants but my dog tries to eat the plants and flowers don't last long. Artificial ones look nice and you are only paying for them once
A few years ago my brother came to stay and commented how the roses were blooming well and opening. I had to confess it was an artificial arrangement so that’s saved me lots. I do buy fresh flowers too.
I love them as they give my house abit of life. With the exception of a money tree, normal house plants just dont like my home
I became a houseplant person over the last year, they really cheered me up when stuck at home. When new leaves grow it's really rewarding. I wouldn't get that from artificial plants.
I have lots of real plants too. When the orchids finish flowering I rest them in the back bedroom window and get so much delight when a new flowering stem grows.
It depends. I’d rather not have any, as I keep my real plants in the garden. But I don’t mind having cacti (fake or real)
I used to have beautiful artificial orchids in Poland. I bought them in Sweden. They looked so real than I moved to London my father watered them for long time...
I really like them. I also make my own from recycled paper. But nothing beats real fresh flowers
i kill every plant i have ever owned... so i think i should stop trying now and make the change to artificial haha
Try an anthurium, they take lots of neglect and don’t mind being overwatered. I’ve a couple that have lasted years and reflower.
I think they are lovely. I wish i could arrange them well as they look so realistic nowadays
I don't have a strong opinion either way. I've seen a growing number of cafes and restaurants adding artificial plants, especially Cherry Blossoms to the exterior of the premises. They usually look quite nice.
