Lockdown Losing My Marbles
Ask a Question
Locked-down and losing my marbles WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO BEAT THE BORDOM TELL US?
I hear you. Cabin fever is setting in for me also over the last couple days. My mood isnt good. I'm going to have a rummage in my loft today & sort a few things out up there.
i hear you lol the wife had me doing the shed clear out yesterday. Today i have the garden kids are going insane constantly need entertaining but i am enjoying the extra time with them : )
I'm ok so far. Work during the day, then board games, netflix or reading. Some cooking too. And chat with friends and family
I haven't lost mine - yet, but I think my sister has. This is what she's just sent
Just be careful because people are going crazy from being in lock down!
Actually I've just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking coffee and all of us agreed that things are getting bad.
I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as she puts a different spin on everything, and certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant.
In the end though, the iron calmed me down as she said everything will be fine, no situation is too pressing. The hoover was very unsympathetic... told me to just suck it up, but the fan was more optimistic and hoped it would all soon blow over!
The toilet looked a bit flushed when I asked its opinion, and didn’t say anything but the door knob told me to get a grip.
The front door said I was unhinged and so the curtains told me to ...
Yes, you guessed it ... pull myself together.
Hi Loislane how you doing? Well we've all got an excuse now, I thought it was normal to talk to the hoover.
Haha.hilarious! i like one on an email earlier (on the keep em quiet website)it said "eighth day of self-isolation& its like Vegas in my house.we're losing money by the minute, cocktails are acceptable at any hour, and nobody knows what time it is" so true...
lilyflower i talk to the cat a lot(my boys up in rooms, gaming,& uni& college work too)but cat likes to get last meow in
Loislane I'm OK. Today is 'go out day' I've got meds to collect and do the shopping. Then I'll get the hoover out, it's a bit like a man though keeps putting things down in wrong place and doesn't always pick things up but at least it doesn't answer back.
lilyflower That is absolutely fantastic your sister has a great sense of humour and if she can send that she is doing well.
Caz2 I haven't spent any money, but any time is Baileys o'clock (but have now run out) I haven't a clue what day it is, just hope I don't miss binmen day!
Lynibis I'll ask her if there are any more. We both have a great sense of humour as do our 3 kids, something her OH and my ex has/had difficulty with.
Lynibis - Sister has just sent six so I'll put them on 'Joke of day' thread, that's the next week covered by which time she might have more.
Caz2 lilyflower i took over my daughters tictok she said mam you do know I have over 19000 followers
Jeez I'm like this everyday with agoraphobia but write down a list of stuff you want to do. Like read a book, bake, things you've wanted to do but not got the time to do. I don't have a garden but all my neighbours are working on theirs, bad time to have hay-fever really
Yes good idea, then if we get to tick them off at least we will feel like we've achieved something.
It is beginning to feel a bit like Groundhog Day, but I find going out for a walk everyday does help to relieve the monotony at home. I'm reconciled to the fact that it's going to be like this for a while, so I try to make the best of it
I know every day is like much more the same...dont even know what day it is anymore in our house...
Hi i am quite bored at the moment but slightly managing by watching Netflix and playing Football with the kids in the back garden.
I think getting a routine in place is really important if you are in lockdown with one or two others, rather than aimlessly trying to pass the time. I am alone so not so important for me.
If I were still a younger parent I would be making sure everyone got up and made beds, shower/wash/teeth etc. Family breakfast with everyone helping. A set amount of time for teaching/learning while brain is fresh, then an exercise routine even if just dancing around to music. Puzzle/game/play while lunch prepared by a nominated person. Out for your one a day walk. Another bit of learning time, family film and then dinner prep with kids learning to cook and all about food nutrition.
Evening free time to pursue own pastimes, preferably in a different room for me time if it is possible.
Kids bedtime routine and then well deserved drink for parent(s).
