Has Lockdown Made You More Lazy or More Active?

Ask a Question

I have a mix of both. I feel I should be doing more active things but then I get side tracked and suddenly the day is over!

At the beginning of lockdown I was very active, I had a spring clean, sorted cupboards, cleared space in our loft, Painted passage etc but last couple weeks Iv not got as much done as I hoped, I have had a ongoing infection tho & been feeling wiped out so I do have an excuse. At least that's what I'm telling myself. I'm not thrilled about the weight gain mind.

A bit of both for me too! I've had days where I've had a big sort out and gone fr a run and other days I've just binge-watched Netflix all day!

More active. Garage is almost spotless, entire house almost sorted, more business networking done than usual, a lot more exercise than I ever do and working harder. The only issue is alcohol consumption is a lot higher, probably because I know I don't have to see anybody apart from my other half who is also drinking more. I've also spent way too much time on here. Hic.

It varies from day to day. Some days are more active, others are lazy. It depends on how much my son let's me get done.

I started off with lots of motivation and projects for painting the garden fence and the Inside of the house and exercise. Needless to say no exercise as of yet, the garden fence is finally complete and so far have only painted the hall and the kitchen all in 2 months a bit pathetic and starting to feel down that I can see a huge difference in my face and belly on the weight gain.

At the start I was fairly lazy - not exercising much and baking a lot (It was Covid-19 law after all that you had to make banana bread) 😀

For about the last 3 or 4 weeks though I've started properly exercising and eating sensibly.

I think its changed throughout. I was very active at the start and regularly exercising and recently I’ve become a bit lazy and I think its because I’ve gotten use to the lockdown and its no longer an abnormal thing for me - which isnt great!

Amazing how we are all getting into new routines, I think it is going to be hard for some people to get back into work mode.

eyeballkerry yeah agreed - I think some people will just love the idea of not commuting and would prefer to work from home ,which could be good as they would save money and reduce pollution but could make them lazy!

There have only been 4 days during the lockdown that I haven't gone out for a walk. I'm out for at least 1-3 hours a day. I've noticed a lot more cafes, restaurant, ice cream parlours, etc opening for takeaway in the last week or so 🍦

I have an active job, but due to not being able to go to work I have been lazier, but still active in the respect I have to walk my dogs

We retired in January and were just getting into a 'retired' routine, lots of walking and getting used to both being in the flat. I think we've cracked the second part! It'll be good to get back walking as other than weekly shopping and walk around the block at night, we've not been out.
