Londons Oldest 400 Year Tree in Danger of Being Cut Down

In the News

Its not a case of the developers not seeing the wood for the trees here but not seeing the flats for the tree

I am willing to put a bet that it mysteriously gets cut down just before the court case or if the developers lose, just after

Greed always trumps nature

I love Dame Judi Dench's involvement to protect the tree. She has a valid point to respect nature, not destroy it.Other plans by the council is to have the tree picked up by its roots 😞 ... like you said greed trumps nature

I hope i am wrong N but i have seen this many times before in the news whether it be a tree or a property that the owner wont sell that mysteriously catches fire

There is always somebody willing to do a dirty deed for money

Good for her for getting involved. The tree should stay exactly where it is.

I agree that it will probably have an 'accident' an out of control lorry/tractor perhaps but it would be terrible. Planners always think about the money over the planet and/or wishes of the locals.
