Lonely Older People
Ask a Question
Hi I'm an old fellow ( never see 60 again ) does anyone no of any sites where we can exchange views , ideas and or generally just mix ?
There must be various facebook groups for meetups, you may try to use the search bar on Facebook and type: 'your city name' + meetup and you will likely something that you may like. If there's really nothing with that combination of words maybe go into a selling stuff group and ask there, there's always a million people checking those sites and maybe they can point you in the right direction, Also, there's an app for your phone called Meetup if you are tech savvy.
I have never and would never use facebook I hate everything it is , however thanks for your reply . Despite my many years I consider myself savvy and I usually download apps linking to adult chat sites ( NSFW )
There's a place where you'll always be made welcome , exchange views and banter . Its called your local Pub . About the only thing I missed during the lockdown .
Golfforall Thanks , I haven't been in a pub for 30 years , too many drunks , nice idea though !
mrgoggll Obviously depends on the pub , ours is a family orientated one at the edge of town . I normally go in for an hour or two between 4pm and 7pm when its fairly quiet . The drunks tend to congregate in pubs around the town centre around here . Mainly the older crowd and a few families in early evening ( The way I prefer it ).
I am of a similar situation but at the moment I do not feel particularly lonely as I still work (lockdown aside), have lots of family company and chat and 3 brilliant female friends I meet regularly for lunch or just a cuppa.
However, I would love someone to chat with about the things I enjoy....history, putting the world to rights, film, literature etc.
Golfforall as a woman (despite our apparent equality) women are still eyed with suspicion entering a pub alone. LordUnbox I am also very anti Facebook, having signed up twice and deleted twice, never again. The appalling language and trolling was beyond belief.
