How Long Did It Take for You to Win Your First Competition and What Was It?
Competitions
I've been comping for a few weeks now and honestly need a bit of motivation to not quit because I know deep down, I will win something soon. Share your stories!
I lost motivation after many weeks but unexpectedly a box of children's crayons arrived at my house. It spurred me for a while, it's been a bit slow since though, just some dog chews but hey they were free and it cost only time to enter!
I keep checking my post every morning in the hope that something turns up ! Keep going, I'm sure you'll win something soon!
I enter online competitions but not had a big win yet. Won some Dorset Cereal and a meal out which wasn’t great, I would recommend that restaurant.
Just tell yourself someone has to be lucky. I met a couple on holiday a couple of years ago, they had won two cars and various holidays. That’s when I started doing these competitions. One day, one day........
It was several months before I began winning. I joined around October of last year. It was about march/April I got a couple of dvd's, some tights, game of thrones calligraphy set, then nothing for another 2 months before another dvd, magazine subscription and recently a board game. My best win mid year was 2k vouchers for Dreams with a years supply of books. Had email yesterday saying I had won chat and spin radio superman comp but haven't a clue what it is so trying not to get too excited. So you see, time is the crucial thing and most of those you have entered may not have been drawn yet. Plus you must be prepared to do a couple of hundred a week, some folk do loads more. I have to say a month is nothing in comping terms.
lynnibis yeah I know, especially compared to people who have been doing it for years. That DREAMS win must have been lovely! Fingers crossed for your chat and spin win - hope its something nice just in time for xmas!
maiahwillwin thank you, I have a feeling it may be a t shirt and baseball cap but I am not complaining. Yes I got a new set of wardrobes as mine were falling apart a bit! Shared remainder between my two sons.
It was about 6 weeks before I won my first competition and it was for a coffee scrub hamper. Haven't won anything in a while but I haven't entered many competitions recently.
lynnibis hands have been very full! Why would anyone name their child that! It is just ridiculous! His name is Scott.
MrsCraig aaaaah that's nice. Maybe you were too hands full to see the news this week about the American mother who actually called her child abcde. There is a thread about it a bit further back lol.
Congratulations. And Scott is a nice name. Will you be encouraging him to do lots of comping when he is older?
lynnibis I totally missed it! Will have to go back and have a look! I feel sorry for that child! I would be changing my name as soon as I was old enough if I were them!
RegularComper90 thanks. I will tell him about comping, but it will be his choice if he decides to do it. I remember during labour that I told the midwife all about comping because she liked the smell of my lipbalm and it was one that I had won. I was a bit out of it on morphine and gas and air, but I remember telling her all about comping and even my husband told her about my wins!
