How Many of You Look at Refurbished Stuff

I always try to buy refurbished - from reputable companies (usually via ebay), in most cases they are undistinguishable from new... in fact in most cases they are new, if they have been unpacked from original packaging or the packaging is even slightly damaged or even opened then big retailers like Argos will usually sell off as refurbished. Some things I've bought in recent years are: Toshiba laptop, Acer tablet, BT true call phone, Vax vacuum cleaner and Panasonic video camera.

Saved a lot of money and had no problems.

I usually pass these by to be honest. I appreciate there may be bargains but you usually get less warranty, and I guess since I'm not used to buying them, I'm not sure what to look for in terms of whether it's a good deal.

I've also heard horror stories for electronics such as hard drives, where components are removed and replaced with lesser ones, then sent back, so would be worried about paying for something inferior without realising.
