Having Zero Motivation to Lose Weight
Ask a Question
Does anybody else feel like they have 0% motivation when it comes to losing weight? I am so fed up but just find it so difficult to keep it up.
ellenmcmurchie i really need to do it for health reasons/fertility. I just got no get up and go! Wishing you the best with yours β€
KirsteyJames i know so many people who have done really well on slimming world. How did it go for you?
ZahraBux i lost just over 3 stone last year as i had motivation to go on holiday in September. After holiday when it was colder, dark early and i had nothing to motivate me it went a bit wrong. Also foodhub where giving big discounts all the time so ive pretty much lived off takeaway We have started getting back onto plan sort of at home and will be going back to class in feb when it gets a bit quieter first few weeks of jan are mayhem and i hate a crowd
KirsteyJames oh wow, 3 stones is amazing! I may have to look into it. Good luck with your weightloss journey
ZahraBux honestly its really easy to follow and you can eat almost anything its just the way you cook things or getting certain versions. It involves a lot of prep and cooking from fresh rather than easy options but it really does work.
KirsteyJames see the thing is i eat alot of fresh and cook each day, i think i just eat alot of carbs, no excercise and i eat like a man
If I start to lose weight I have motivation, but never actively try to lose weight in the first place, despite probably needing to. I think the word diet should be banned in any vocabulary as straight away that puts a different mind-set on anything, whereas if you say a lifestyle regime change it puts a more positive spin on it and therefore you are more likely to continue with it. Good luck
ZahraBux no you don't, anytime you feel like having chocolate or whatever just do it but in moderation, or just come on here and chat to us lot
I have very little motivation to lose weight, even though I still gave baby weight to lose. Luckily I'm constantly running around after my son so it helps me lose weight.
I joined slimming world years ago when I was unhappy with the weight I had put on and I lost roughly 1.5 stone. I would definitely recommend them if you have the patience to stick with it lol! Itβs maintaining your weight once your happy with it thats the trouble!
AliceBell64468 the thing is i know exactly what i need to do. I just need a kick up the backside. Im so unhappy about it and yet still can't find the motivation
Lost total of 5 St but put on 12lbs since August with my family ill health I've been off plan and Xmas it's making me ill worrying about it bk to S. W last week bit the bullet brushed my self down start again
I know exactly how to successfully lose weight but sadly don't often have the will power to achieve it. Looking at a graph of my weight readings over many months is like looking at the outline of the Himalayan mountains.
BonzoBanana same with me, i know what the problem is, i just have no get up and go in me
Staying focus is the key distractions learning to make improvements where needed don't give up try again next day xx
This weather really doesn't help, I was running and doing Yoga over the Summer but dropped it all in the colder months.
Bad health due to bad diet is a wonderful motivation. Unfortunately most people wait until they succumb to bad health before improving their diet.
Want to lose 2 stone as my son is 7 months now no excuse! Eaten all the yummy food at home now not going to buy any more
Yes me too Iv been looking at weight loss surgery this morning just don't know what to do anymore
Like most people I have to get back into the swing of healthy eating again but won't be tackling it until the end of the month when all the temptations are eaten or given away. I honestly believe that starting too soon after the hols puts extra pressure and a feeling of missing out on things, making a diet doubly hard.
We are all different.
The biggest mistake is to believe that one diet plan can help us all...It is more complicated.
I heard it is in genetic....some DNA is responsible for the fat which can be treated...the medicine is also exist..
There is a healthy diet and that means u eat lots of carbs....and less everything else...u can check in Nutritionist books.
For me it is extremely hard to lose weight. Also know if I want to look perfect. I have to exercise 4 hours a day, which I do not have...sometimes I can not even get out of the flat...
I also join the zero motivation group, because I believe to do well on diets and exercise I need more money and time....
AgnesFaludi the diet industry makes millions because everyone wants to lose weight. But i feel like we make it harder on ourselves, as you said everyone is different and what might work for me, wont work for you.
I need exercise first and foremost, i think once you see that change it gives you that boost and food and healthy eating will follow. I dont think diets are a long term solution. I think its ok to eat most things but as a treat or in moderation.
Iβm currently struggling with this too! And have a holiday in 9 weeks so obviously would like to look my best for that. Iβve made a simple change which will help which is more home cooking and less takeaways - seems so simple but I work so much sometimes itβs just convenient to pick something up. I have only done it since last Sunday so one whole week but Iβve managed to cook every day so far
HannahSunderlan ahh amazing! You will do fine but i know what you mean, you always feel it more when you are about to go on holiday too, but you have still got enough time. Have your tried to prep meals for the week? Might save you time and money?
ZahraBux definitely something to consider, it really is just finding the time for me! We have a whiteboard in the kitchen so we planned out our meals on Sunday for the week so fingers crossed we can keep the momentum going for another week! Itβs saving us money as well not just grabbing convenience food. Good luck with your weight loss :-) x
chelseaturpin sounds interested. I have ordered a vegan pack, so look forward to receiving and educating myself abit more. I feel like this everyday of every month lol
Nice! Good luck with it. Have you joined a gym before? I haven't but considering it (maybe..)
gaelle0501 i did years ago. See with me, i need to be in that mode and the only place i ever found i was, was at the gym. Plus i knew once i tie myself in, i will get my lazy butt up and go. Gping to do a mixture of classes, swimming and gym so its fun and not same old same old.
