Lost the Christmas Spirit

No of course it don't you may have personal reasons why no one should judge

You don't have to buy things to enjoy Christmas (or any other time for that matter). Does it make you bad - of course not. Your reasons are private and rightly so. For the last 5 years I haven't even put the tree or any decorations up, Christmas still comes and goes. At least I don't then get the feeling of the house looking bare when they come down. Just be good, true to yourself and hold your head high.

It’s entirely up to you. Lots of people have stopped sending cards. Only last week I posted my Christmas cards but only those that live far away. I bought 20 stamps @70p each and if I’m honest, begrudged paying that much. My family have agreed to just give small token gift which I’m finding hard to keep to. Just do what you like and don’t let anyone make you feel bad by your decision.

I never have the christmas spirit let alone loose it I don't like christmas never have . I don't have any decorations up and rarely do put them up. I have not sent a single christmas card this year. I will not put the radio on because o christmas songs.. I hate the forced happiness of it all. I'm glad when its over. the build up goes on and on. I don't eat turkey either. Basically, I am mrs deagle from gremlins. I have got a gremlins jumper to wear on christmas day but that's as far as I'm going.

Not at all. I haven't done any of those things either. I will send cards next week and will need to buy presents but I'm not putting any decorations up, unless my husband wants them up.

Nope not at all, Christmas has become all about spending money which isnt what it's about.

Christmas isn't about decorations, cards, presents etc. I haven't celebrated it for years, I don't see anyone or go anywhere and don't give or receive presents (I'm not a scrooge, just don't feel I have to give just because of a date on a calendar and I give presents throughout the year to people, which makes them appreciate it more) and I love it. I don't feel the need to eat my weight in food and eat what I want, can take or leave a drink, watch what I want etc etc. Whilst it is not everybody's ideal, it suits me. I see others getting stressed, in debt and panic buying, how is that fun?

Whatever your reasons for feeling as you do, I hope you don't think you are a bad person, you have proved you aren't purely by posting and asking the question, a bad person wouldn't even question it. Just smile to yourself as you see the mayhem carry on around you.
