Have You Lost or Gained over the Last Few Month?

Other

I am talking about weight of course but if you want to talk about any other losses or gains that's ok too.

I have stayed the same because I have not been as active, but eaten less, a light breakfast and an evening meal, but many days when I have been naughty!

What triggered this thought was that I have just seen Corrie and was absolutely amazed at how much weight the actor who plays Craig has lost. Facially he looks very different.

Totally unrelated but today I got a nice big letter from the co-op and was sure I had won a comp. No such luck, letter and forms to apply for a pre-paid funeral! Not sure I like unsolicited mail like that, very upsetting if you or a family member have a terminal illness!

It's hard isn't it? If like me you will go back to a more active life after covid I am sure you will lose it again. Maybe you can carry it ok.

I am what folk used to call plump but am lucky to have a bit of height so people are usually quite surprised if I mention my weight lol.

Especially in a time of covid! I know a lot of people bury their head in the sand but I have a will (first done at age 37), and my funeral costs are covered. So many people leave a terrible mess behind for families to deal with.

Lynibis My parents have paid for their funerals after my brother died back in 2012. My Dad seems well pleased that he got a great deal. Dark humour I know, but the fact they have done this is super thoughtful, as I will not be landed with that expense. XX

Ceebers very wise. I haven't paid for mine but have the money put aside.

Gained plenty. Glad the gyms are open again, wasn't enjoying exercising at home or trying outside. Much prefer a gym and a slightly normal routine I can get back into.

Sounds like you will shed it quickly, good luck.

I've lost weight. I've been losing my baby weight gradually and continued to do so during lockdown. I've just been eating less and my son keeps me busy running around after him and our daily walk, plus decluttering the house so up and down the stairs a lot and been doing the garden too.

I think there are two distinct camps during lockdown. Those who couldn't resist extra eating and those who had a routine and ate less.

My job involves being in a vehicle with the driver and often time to kill between jobs, invariably that meant eating, far more disciplined at home!

I did all of these things before lockdown anyway, but with not going to his playgroups we have been in the house more, so trying to keep busy so I don't snack! Decluttering and reorganizing rooms has definitely stopped me being tempted to eat extra!

I've lost just over a stone. Would have been more if I didn't drink so much wine πŸ™„πŸ˜†

Ha ha, well as you saw on your topic, don't like wine, but did have a phase of Bailey's coffee until I got sick of them!

I have actually lost weight, due to the amount of exercise that I have been doing during Lockdown. My yoga poses are quite something to behold!!! 🀣 🀣 🀣

Since cutting dairy out of my diet last year, I have lost over 6.6kg (over a stone).

Well done you! My son gave me a sort of step machine but to be honest I find it hard to even stay on it. I am swaying precariously and have to hold on to something!

You got that post from the Co-op because of a comp which I also entered (I got one yesterday too) the prize was '1 of 10 £500 east of England co-op vouchers' being drawn on 31st August, it was mandatory to get the funeral booklet. 🐞

Weight - gained a little (I think) 🐞

Gained 4-5 pounds due to inactivity mostly. Easy to drop when everything is somewhat normal.

Yep that's not bad at all and a lot easier to lose than 4 or 5 stone!

That made laugh, I have no one to put me straight like that lol. I have a pic of me at age 16 on the fridge but it has been there so long I don't even notice it anymore. Even if I did I wouldn't take any notice!

Do you have a pic of your OH for the fridge lol?

I really wish I could lose weight eating the same. I need to shed at least 3 stone. Underactive thyroid doesn't help.

Lynibis I have thyroid trouble but I never know which one I got I think its the one you got. I am On pills for it. Are you on pills for it. I do eat ready made meals. I make all my meals from stretch make my own bread and pizza. And I do meals for the freezer. And plus I do a lot of walking has well. πŸ€—

nicolajaynehend yes I am on levothyroxine. I believe those with underactive are more usually plumper as it slows everything down, including metabolism. Overactive thyroid usually means slimmer as everything is working faster and those people seem to be far more active with bags of energy. I am not a doctor so may be wrong.

When young I used to do the things you do but like you I live alone, inner city, and it is hard to find the incentive to go for walks around dismal concrete jungles alone. Same with cooking, no one to appreciate my efforts but I do cook mostly fresh, simple stuff like Bolognese, curry, casseroles etc.

Hopefully you will get back to normal when life is back to normal. I am lucky in that I am not keen on alcohol but I have a terrible sweet tooth which couldn't be worse as I am hovering on the borderline of D2.
