Lost Motivation

Im getting bored with some online stuff,its just same old same old..yes we need the sunshine back,but then we'd be out enjoying it so not on apps etc anyway, but might be a good thing.

Not sure if the sun would make anyone more interested in LD but I know what you mean. I am spending less and less time on here. There is a lot of unpleasantness going on in chat, boring topics, repeats and folk posting a topic and never coming back to answer those who are kind enough to comment. Trying to find a comp to post is almost impossible...a couple of dozen posted by same person in an hour or two, not sure why as no points awarded for more than 3, so keep getting the whoops message.

I am half way to next voucher but after that may cut back a bit more as it is no longer a pleasure. I think all things have a natural life span but there will always be many coming along to take their place.

I think the freebie section is pretty rubbish now. This isn't at all the fault of any members and I am sure they do their best... but there's far too many fabric swatches, catalogues, cashback offers for things which are either really hard to find in stores or are only for new members and "freebies" where you have to pay for postage which is usually way too high for what it is.

I only really bother with the competitions and deals now. I don't bother with the chat section as much as I used to, for the same reasons mentioned by Lynibis.

I actually had an weeks enforced break from the site last week (thank you Storm Ciara for taking down my phone line)

I think it has done me good, and I feel positive and enthusiastic about the site again.

I hope to share some upcoming features that may help kickstart a little excitement in the future of LD (works in progress):

• Faster Vouchers - At the moment you get vouchers at 5,000 points, 15,000, 50,000, 100,000... and then every 50,000 point interval. It's our intention to improve the last milestone and change it to every 25,000 point interval. 50,000 points just seems a little bit too long and too much of a slog, so 25,000 points will mean you get vouchers more frequently
• Improving Freebies - It is in the plan to create some extra filters on freebies. For example, so you can hide all freebies that require a postage spend. We could potentially create a filter that hides all catalogues if that was of sufficient interest to you.
• Competitions - We have listened to the feedback that competitions is becoming harder to participate in because there are some super members who love to post as much as possible - hundreds every day! We are discussing this as we do want to find a balance between allowing super users to enjoy the site and not feel restricted, whilst also making sure everyone can take part.
• Improving Chat - This is probably the trickiest part! I'm happy to say we are improving in our moderation speeds and we are happy to remove bad actors to keep Latest Deals a positive, friendly and safe community. A feature update coming soon will be adding our LD News to Chat on desktop. You can read about incredible members doing incredible things.

Many of us feel lethargic and ‘down’ in January and February.

I go through spells. I had many, many months off away from here and comps and freebies last year. At some point soon, I will ease off again. I don't keep at it all year around. Some days I'm really in the mood for comps and others I would rather watch youtube or read lots.

I agree with you its become boring and not worth it. The survey apps i had ( 3 of them) got deleted last month as it was taking too long to actually earn any cash, then they changed the apps as more people joined it took longer to get a fiver. This website was great at start with some great deals but now i see the same old stuff being advertised. Also there used to loads of glitches and now i hardly see any.

It happens sometimes, but than we get back to the right track.

I was losing motivation but seeing the update from Tom about smaller increments to get vouchers and improvements to chat is a positive move.

Personally, I find it's the time of the year - I had my 'no motivation' spell before during and after Christmas. Since the evenings have become lighter I'm finding much more energy and enthusiasm again. Like any successful site, deals and comps get harder to find without duplication and that is disheartening. The changes planned with the increments will be welcomed by all of us.
