Lost Post

I posted a birthday card and CD to my mum for her birthday at the end of July - I made the mistake of just sticking a first class stamp on it (which obviously needed to be a large letter stamp) but I assumed it would still get there (although maybe late) and she would need to pay the remaining postage on it (I’ve had this happen before) but it just never turned up has this happened to anyone else? I feel really bad because I can’t afford to buy her another CD and it looks like I just didn't bother with her birthday.. I tried to ring Royal Mail and I spent 45 minutes on hold and couldn’t get through to anyone
sarahgreen15 There may be hope. I found best way was to contact them on-line. Try this https://www.postoffice.co.uk/mail/lost-and-damaged How are you and baby?
I don’t think I can claim anything because it was just a stamp and wasn’t tracked or anything.. we’re good thanks! Full term now so just a waiting game, just ready to meet him
sarahgreen15 I'd give it a go, once you 'get into' the forms you can claim for just postage, at lease you get some stamps, but you have to do it within 80 days
My dad posted a birthday card with money in it a few years ago from scotland to a friends grandson whom he met on holiday from wales. The card didnt get there, months later my dads friend phoned to thank him for sending another one. Which he hadnt. It had just taken 4 months to get from scotland to wales. So maybe it will turn up yet
Mine was scotland to Northern Ireland so maybe I doubt it though, I’m sure it’s because it weighed too much for a stamp but I wouldve been willing to pay the difference! Can’t believe they would just bin it
It may still turn up, but it might take a while. Sometimes it’s just left at the sorting office, until the pile gets huge and they sort through it
