You can make regular meals, just have smaller portions and use the lowest fat % that you can afford to buy or use some meat alternatives. Make lunches, like chicken salads and take them with you to work. Scrambled eggs are good if you have time in the morning to make them.

Aenurse1 thank you. I put on lots of weight when i had my son. I've been slowly losing it and have gone from a 16 to a 10/12, so I'm almost back to the size I was before I has my son.

Aenurse1 I cut out snacks, unless it was a piece of fruit or carrot

/cucumber sticks, I ate 3 meals a day, same food as normal but smaller portions and I exercised more. Started with small walks and then built it up. Drank more water. I would still have the occasional treat, but would cut something else out or have an even smaller portion of dinner or exercise for slightly longer. I tried to be as active as possible and watched what I ate. I also told myself it was a long term goal, not a quick fix.

I've not used it yet but I bought myself a soup maker and it looks pretty easy to use and you can even do low fat smoothies in them. You can use frozen veg/mixed veg to make it even simpler and takes around 25 minutes to have a smooth or chunky soup.

PeteBeds soup is a really good idea. We often have a veg soup at lunchtimes and it's very filling. My favourite is spinach lemon and lentil, even though I thought I didn't like spinach!

PeteBeds Soup is always a great idea and super cheap. You can buy cheap veg, mix into soup and spice it up as you like it and dilute to the consistency you like. It's easy to freeze the soup and unlike normal veg which softens when frozen and isn't quite as good as fresh it really doesn't matter with soup so a frozen soup tastes like a completely fresh soup. As water is the main ingredient by far, its easy to be completely full after eating despite having a very low calorie meal and of course they can be exceptionally good for you because of all the fresh veg.

If you make it into a thick puree and freeze it you can take it to work allowing it to defrost and then just add boiling water to make it a hot soup so you don't need access to a kitchen at work just a kettle. Yes the soup may have to be quite thin and watery to make sure its very hot but that will be more filling.

You can freeze chunks of different veg and then experiment with new soup flavours by adding chunks of these and blending.

Take a look at the British Heart Foundation website. They do heart healthy recipes and they have downloadable resources on losing weight for life. It is a slow and steady approach, based on portion size. I lost a stone or so for my sons wedding and haven't put it back on. Good luck. You can do it!

I'm currently trying to lose weight, I've started eating healthier and smaller portions, walking as much as I can but my big problem is snacking, biscuits, chocolate, cakes - I'm terrible! This last 2 weeks I've been really good, had the odd treat but not binged like I would usually.

I downloaded nutracheck app, it helps you with calories etc. I'm a bit obsessed with calorie counting at the moment, think I'm driving my partner insane 😆

I find mug shots are a great alternative to a sandwich lunch for example. I know sunny is coming but still enjoy these all weathers.
