Macular Degeneration in Eyes

I used to work with someone who was diagnosed with macular degeneration - it does have to be monitored closely and, depending on whether it is wet/dry/age related, prescribed eye drops can help. Smoking will affect the condition and hasten the degeneration so must be avoided at all costs. The problem can also affect driving ability because of the distortion so it is best to get it acknowledged as soon as poss. There are new treatments but I think they are in USA.

My grandad had this and i know he used to have regular eye tests and checks at the hospital. He occasionally had to change his glasses for stronger ones. He also had to use eye drops if I remember rightly.
