Depends what type of make up you are after, before lockdown I purchased a new foundation by No7 which lasts well and they match your skin colour in store which is good.
You might like this Revolution Beauty sale, there's lots of make up at half price:

What make up items in particular you after? I think make up items are alot like skin care what works well for me might not necessarily for you. I really like Charlotte Tilbury items, Iv loved the couple of pieces iv splurged on. Iv worn loreal true match foundation for years, I always go back to it. Mascara go to is benefit. Revolution have fantastic eyeshadow palettes, often very cheap.
I like benefit and even picked up an amazing brow gel in boots you put it over your brows and it tints them then you leave it to dry and peel it off
I like Aldi make up if you are on a budget, particularly their BB cream (kind of like a tinted moisturizer).
For brows I do like Wonderbrow which is a bit of a splurge. It does last and you can often get it around £10 on offer.
Pjran it has excellent staying power and once it on it isn't going anywhere even when I've been on holiday, swimming etc.
As I use an oil based cleanser (Ponds Cold Cream) it does come off with that at night but on the occasion I've just used Aldi facewash if I haven't got my normal cleanser it doesn't budge. Infact I'd say you problem will be getting it off rather than it coming off! You do need an angled brush to apply it which doesn't come with it (it's like gel). Their applicator is sort of like the type you'd have with a brush lip gloss and is useless.
rararachel thank you. I think I’ll try and find an offer. Boots havent got it at the moment so I’m on a mission now to find it for the £10 you said.
Pjran I got mine from Amazon. They always reduce it close to Xmas, around Black Friday but that probably isn't helpful at the moment.
rararachel I would rather pay £10 just in case I don’t get on with it. You wouldn’t believe how many unliked nail varnishes I have!
