Making Money Youtube Blogging

Can you really become a millionaire from blogging on youtube? It seems some people make this a full time job.

Haven't a clue, bit of a technophobe and wouldn't know where to start. But would love to write a blog as I have far too much to say and it would get it all off my chest. I love alone so no one to vent with!!!

I think your finger wandered one key to the right, on the second letter, when you meant to type "live" ... gave me a laugh though 🤣

Yeah but its very hard to actually become popular on youtube nowadays. A lot of young people choose to do it because its 'fun' and 'easy' but I've seen how hard it is to actually get somewhere and tbh, it seems a tad toxic. So many haters out there that like to take the mickey.

The chances of becoming a successful Youtuber are very low. There is so much content being posted every second of every day that it will be difficult for your videos to be seen and your channel to get subscribers.

There are only a fraction of 1% of channels on YouTube that make a significant amount of money. Most don't make the cost of the electricity used in uploading.

Even channels which have met the requirements for adverts rarely get to the point of reaching the minimum amount needed (£60 in the UK) for any payment to be made.

I believe it will get even more difficult for people to make money, which depends on advertising revenue, as advertisers are vastly outnumbered by the channels wanting to benefit from advertising revenue , and many of those advertisers are actually YouTube hopefuls promoting their own channels. They pay 100% of their own money to advertise, but even if successful will at the most only get 55% of any revenue their videos generate.

My honest opinion: newcomers who are tone deaf have more chance of singing "Knees up Mother Brown" and winning X Factor than they have of making a living, without something REALLY UNIQUE, on YouTube.

Unless you're one of the YouTubers who get millions of views then it won't really cover the costs and it's more of a hobby. There is however ways for subscribers to support the creators, like, Patreon, YouTube Member, Paypal, Bitcoin, iTunes, Bandcamp, Merchandise, Referral Links, etc.

I kinda hate how YouTubers make in-video ads about VPNs and I just end up fast-forwarding it. I already have my preferred VPN, not gonna buy/try yours. 😛

If you want to create a blog/website, Wordpress is a good place to start and you can get creative on improving it. It's free of charge as long as your website url is something like deepcore.wordpress.com or deepcore.home.blog (dot home dot blog is pretty crappy, tbh). To create a logo? There's free ways to but the best ones are usually paid (programs, etc).

A further thing that restricts any possible income is that if there is anything in a video that is copyrighted (very hard to avoid) the copyright holder can, quite rightly, claim any resulting revenue.

My own channel which has over a thousand subscribers and well over two million views has, over the years, accumulated £45:24 (which when the minimum of £60 is reached is destined for a hospice charity).

The Alphabet group who own YouTube and Google have made well over a thousand pounds from my videos- I'm not complaining - it costs a lot to run a thing like YouTube which has lost Google millions over the years.

A thing I've noticed is that videos that would have gone viral ten years ago often get less than a hundred views. (even when the channel they're on has tens of thousands subscribers)

Lots of people need to watch your video to earn something... I think probably better when someone shows a brand and they promote things for money.

Yes you can, Loads pf American youtubers have done it. I believe British youtubers such as Zoella, Alfie Dayes and Joe Sugg have all made loads of money by filming their day to day lives and others stuff too.

Never heard of any of them 🙄. Possibly because I'm not "Cool" ? or more probably because I have a mind of my own and don't need anyone to tell me what to think 😮.

Lol, he won't answer as he is no longer a member and posted this two years ago.

My day to day life would be more boring than watching paint dry and if I wrote a blog I don't think anyone would bother reading it.

The bloggers have not made their millions by just filming the YouTube videos.

The actual real money lies in the endorsement, sponsorship and general hawking of products by advertisers.

Youtube simply provides them a platform to give them exposure to viewers who build what seems like to the viewers some kind of friendship.

Later reliying on that same audience to fund their lifestyle by buying any sponsorship products they show.

When they getr eally successful they sell their own range of pots, pans and general tat etc.

I've got friends who have made a serious success of it and there videos are brilliant . The general idea of the videos are there children being sent things to test and they are giving there opinions which they really throw themselves into .
